I vote for the KM2.
I heard for many years too on different forums that the KM2 is undersized or doesn't measure up to it's advertised size but having owned a set in 33x12.5R15 and nine other sets of different tires in the same size, the KM2 was the largest of all. It measured in exactly what was advertised. For the record, 95% of tires come in under their advertised size. Very common.
I loved the KM2. Better rubber compound for street and trail usage, hum while driving giving you the "jeep" feel I suppose and are great on dirt, mud, dust, and all things forest related. Not good in the rain because they are not sipped. The MT/Rs do wear un evenly and will wear faster than the KM2 even when rotated normally. Actually, rotating them sooner than you would normally and you still may come out with them wearing more quickly than most other MTs. The space between the lugs on the MT/R does not last well for a DD. If your rig is an off road only vehicle then the MT/R is a good choice. Then again, so are many other tires still.

Well Nitto doesn’t make the Mud Grappler anymore. Replaced by the Trail Grappler.
The BFG KM2 are notoriously undersized for what they are advertised and have a weaker sidewall than other M/T’s in the market. They also do horrible in the snow, where as some M/T’s do “ok”.
The MTR runs more true to size but I hear it is a bitch to balance. For the money I would go Pitbull Rocker if it wasn’t a DD or Nitto Trail, Toyo, or Cooper/Hercules.

|HK_Runner||The Toyo and Nitto MTs are really heavy. They are heavy truck tires, primarily. I like the MTRs, KMs, and I am starting to like the Hankook MTs too.|

I have had toyo 35's and I liked them but they are twice as heavy and I am going to up size to a bigger tire

Can you list the tires you have ran on. Because compared to stockers, pretty much anytire is a huge benefit.
List the tires you have had an the ones you l iked.

|rics1997||I had MT/r's and went to another tire and ended up going back to the MT/r. Love the tire myself. Some of the tires listed above are way too heavy for a Wrangler. More big heavy truck tire, not Jeep tires|

|gr8fulKID||I love my toyo 37x13.5s. they perform very well on all terrain, wear evenly, take little to balance and will probably last 60k miles. only downside is they are heavy and air a pita to clean mud off of|

|HK_Runner||I like the KMs, so the KM2s must be very good too. I just put on the MTRs...will see how they do. They certainly are better than the KMs in the snow, as I discovered today. They require frequent rotating.|

|MI JeepSkate||i work for discount tire, and theres two tires i absolutely hate that other off roaders love and the MT/R is one of them as well as the falken wildpeak/rocky mountain. when it comes to 38's and tire life expectancy, is kind of a toss up. because its an asymmetrical tire its an inside/outside tire and theres reasons theres only a few asymmetrical mud/all terrain tires because they just dont hold up as well as a symetrical on the pavement and at high speeds. they bowl out quick, they cup like crazy and you get a lot of seperations on the MT/R's. id go with a BFG KM2, or a Nitto mud grappler. both are great tires and i hardly hear complaints about on/off road handling compared to the MT/R. best of luck|
