After seeing that two-tone I really want one (again). Only replace the Amp'd with Billet and the gloss black with satin black....
Wish I could justify it.....

I wish people would do some research before they spread incorrect information on something. You're doing a disservice to everyone on this forum by not having any idea what you're talking about. =[

I'll have pictures of a two tone paint job on a power dome hood Monday or Tuesday. Pics i gave the body shop were from the Flattop jeep. Can't wait to it in amp'd

Interested to see the outcome of paint variances you mentioned! Found this: Attachment 586009

now for paint
I just gave in and bought one of these hoods....Engine compartment heat is the official line (in the winter - yeah very flimsy excuse).... really hoping the paint won't kill my wallet (true blue pearlcoat, over a year old, blending is pricey).
Anyone done a "different" paint job? I was considering going with black in the powerdome area (seen before, there is a yellow and the mopar flattop that have this), latch area, underside, and edges if it looks like blending would otherwise be necessary. Also, may try to copy the Mopar Recon and put a blackout vinyl strip on the powerdome area.

What I need is for the engine tick/head issue to be officially traced back to excessive engine heat, and the vents on the RubiX hood allows for better cooling and prolonged engine life.

My drivers side windshield wiper smears the mag chloride and road spray all over the ineffective washer spray nozzle pattern. I'm going with- it's a safety issue. And it is. On the mountain passes I nearly went through a whole bottle of windshield washer fluid just in one ski trip to keep good visibility. I'm going to ignore the dual nuzzle retro fit involving the windshield bumper removal for dual nozzle setup

This thread pisses me off.
I don't "need" one...so I can't justify the cost.
And there is no way I can sneak a brand new hood past the wife. She WILL notice and ask me what was wrong with the old hood....even if I'm paying for it with my own cash (we have his, her, and our accounts).
We had a hail storm about two weeks ago....and let's just say that I would not have minded a little bit of hail damage to my factory hood. Not that I wanted to file an insurance claim...but I don't think I can get one any other way.
I try to avoid clicking in this thread so that I don't get jealous.

[QUOTE=I almost hope for something to fall on my stock Sahara hood so I can upgrade....[/QUOTE]
Mine got very light hail damage a month after I bought this vehicle. Then some dumbass (me) left the wipers up one day and opened the hood putting a nice scratch in the paint. THAT pushed me over the edge. Didn't take much. A slight breeze probably would have worked just as well also. LOL

It is amazing how somethings just catch on.
I think Jeep hit it out the park with the 10A/Rubi X hood. I would LOVE to get one for my Jeep. I don't need one...(and there is no way I can justify the expense)....but it just looks awesome.
I think Jeep missed the boat on the COD/Moab hood because of the lack of vents. Several people have complained about the bird bath, or the chunk of ice that hits you windshild from the scoop area.
But I do like the Mopar rear bumper and Mopar side rails that are on the Moab.....and I like the front bumper from the 10A/Rubi X.
