lynn I agree with the $2800 or under price. For $3500 I expect something with all running/stopping gear fully functional.

Sooooo... didja get it?

nocibur2 I think that Jeep has lots of potential. Did you get it?

gcaughron Hopefully you can get it for less than the $2800 which is the max that I would go. You could probably part it out and make your money back. Old CJ's are where you find them and if there is no rust to it I would grab it in a hearbeat. The rest is just time and effort as they are simple to work on and parts can be found at your local NAPA. Best of luck.

WhyJ Hey guys. Sorry for the long response. I appreciate the feedback. I'm going to give him a call tomorrow and offer $2500. I think $2800 will be as high as I will go though. Thanks!

Hmmm Labour of love?

Just how much time, Spare time, do you have?

Skills can be learned. But Time is not in high supply.

The before mentioned $2800 sounds Better.

NHflannelman12JK76CJ5 not bad at all. my cj tub is full of holes - jealous of the sheet metal.

IndyJeepMan Looks rough id offer 2800. Since a R&P if you pay to have it installed will be close to 500-700.

WhyJ No rust from what the guy says. We're in West Texas and moisture is a luxury out here. Most vehicles out here don't have rust.

Thanks for the response.

faultymechanics Any frame rot? Rust holes anywhere. So far just looks like some sanding to fix up the body and paint...plus the mechanical work.

84 CJ7 for sale - Should I?

Found this on CL and I'm curious on other's thoughts. I own a 92 YJ and I've done some fun work along with a new lift and transmission, but don't want to get in over my head with the CJ7.

The ad:
The jeep is a 1984 cj7 runs good has factory auto. Trans. 6 cyld. Motor it needs the rear ring and pinion gear replaced. Has 4 in lift with good 33.12.50.15 bfgs new rims. $3500 obo

Is the body work going to be tough and or worth the time?
