Bouldozer This is what I did with a 2013 JKUR recently and the cost - a killer. I did none of the work as I am not qualified.

1. Suspension lift – AEV 3.5” premium kit. $2,969
2. Bumpers – front and back - Rock Hard with 2” receiver hitch, Hi-lift jack mount. $2,548
3. Winch – Warn VR10,000. $600
4. Running boards – Rock Rail with steps. $665.
5. Tires – PRO-COMP Xtreme M/T, LT315/70/R17 Tri-ply plus spacers. $1,835. I used my stock wheels to save a little money.
Be sure the gear ratio is increased to adjust for increased tire size. I still need to do this.
6. Lights – Rigid LED lights x 3 plus switches. $580.

I thank God my wife still loves me. The upgrades are great but it really dropped my hp to weight ratio and my mpg dropped about 4 points. Great Jeep though!

A good place to start would be in the back of your owner manual that came with the rig. It breaksdown a lot of these service items and when you should consider doing it. It also states what fluids you will need along with capacity. Real basic I know, but it does help.

Huelsmma Is there one central thread for all these services...I need to retrain my brain that I will be able to buy all these fluids & parts over the counter so I should start stocking up.

Exactly. That is a potentially long and somewhat expensive list too.

Ball joints, brake pads/shoes, steering fluid, brake fluid, flush and replace radiator coolant, belt and pulleys,steering components like TRE's, drag link ends, track bar bushings, etc., etc.

I'm so close to having my initial list complete, and it's a good to know that when I'm done nearly every single high-wear item, consumable part, and ALL fluids are new and/or properly serviced.

Better than being broke down somewhere with flashy wheels and a cheap lift.

BINGO!! I would first make sure the rig is mechanically sound before spending money on stuff that looks cool or is used for fun. If the rig breaks down, all that extra stuff won't help a bit!! That's what I'm doing, making sure the engine, drivetrain, etc. are all sound before I start spending money on mods. Just advice though.

Shark_13 If it's a used vehicle, you have no idea of the service history.

First on your list should be all fluids....
Engine Oil, transfer case, transmission, both differentials. Then check all u-joints, bushings etc. replace as needed. Grease all your zerk fittings.

dredg009 Brakes. Lift isn't all that important. Mine has a 1.5 inch bb and a 1.25bl and 31s I am right next to my buddy with a 6in long arm and 35s the whole time. Just make sure it works no half assed lift to fit 33s or 35s. My jeep can go any where and could with bald highway tires that came with it. Make sure your suspension isn't wore out and drive that beast. The first time I went off road a ram2500 got stuck right in front of me. I just putted right through In 4hi. Mud splashed over my hood. Jeeps are amazing

NC Bear drive it for 3-4 months and wheel it. You will see what you need to do when.

I would suggest doing all the suspension stuff at one time to include:
lift take your time and do it right the 1st time
reaxle if yours is D35
regear to your wheel and tire combo
after that
winch and tummy tuck

99jeepwrangler. first priority is to make sure it is structurally sound, in my opinion, i just bought my first jeep a little over a month ago, it might look good on the outside and inside but the underside and unseen places is where the problems are hiding! just my advise from a beginner to a beginner haha

larjeep U would want to lift it first to have clearance for off road. Then u do whatever u want. Armor is also good.

New jeep, where to start?

I bought my first jeep today, it's an 05 wrangler Sahara se.
6 cylinder with only tires and rims done everything else is stock.

So what priority should I take in modding this?
I really want to lift it, put on front bumper/winch, back bumper, rock sliders on the side, and some
Armor around just for protection.

So again I ask, any idea how I should prioritize
My mods? Like what is important to get done and what can wait?
