|rebelman||Great info guys. I also incorrectly assumed the doors held the windows in place. I didn't realize the windows tucked into the channels. That is why I love this site.|

|woansleftpeg||Did this today. Incredibly tough to get them to fit, but now they're in they're extremely tight. I assume that they'll stretch a little over the next couple of days.|

|panthermark||I put mine soft top on yesterday and noticed right away that something was wrong with the rear windows. Good thing for this site. I pulled mine off today and reset them. The top isn't quite as snug as the bottom, but they are much better now.|

the only thing you may need to do for the first couple times is start the leading edge retainer before the bottom retainer until the material breaks in..

|scottmphoto||If all windows are up, I turn on the vent to max. The positive pressure bulges out the windows and makes them silent. Of course this only works when all windows are on and closed.|

We need pics of the offending window problem folks.
As already mentioned at least 4 times. If the side window leading ledge is not rolled into the groove in the surround, it simply will not stay in place. When in place and doors closed there is absolutely NO WAY the window can come loose. AAMOF someone cannot even steal the side windows with the doors locked, they are that tight.
So you fellas having probs. if you can pull the side windows off without opening the doors, they are on wrong!

|michiganadam||Today the spring on the top cable on the passenger side came off. It caused the window to not fit tight. That couod be the ops problem as well. I just had to pop it back in.|

It's very common for folks to think the doors themselves hold the windows in place. This is an incorrect assumption and will lead to the windows coming loose as you drive.
You need to ensure you have "rolled" the window edge completely into its channel.
Please post some pics and well get it sorted out. You should not need to add anything to a factory soft top to prevent flapping.

|dalearyous||i forgot to tuck the windows at the bottom my first time putting them back on and they flapped. there is a lip that the window tucks into where the door seals AND at the bottom. with my premium soft top, NOTHING flaps and i am stunned at how quiet it actually is at 70+.|

|en480c4||The other thing you can do, which I've successfully done in later TJ's with the tailgate vent and the JK, is to block the tailgate vent when you're running the soft top. I usually use gaffer's tape, since it comes off without leaving any residue. You definitely need the vent unobstructed with the hard top... But when you block it with the soft top, less air gets out, allowing the fan to do a better job pressurizing the top at higher speeds. This did more with the TJ, but it helped with my JKU, too. And needless to say, this only works with the windows up!|

|Pushrod||As stated before, you don't have the L shaped leading edge of the rear window tucked into the door surround properly. I had to go to the dealership and look at the rear window to see how they are supposed to be installed. Properly installed they don't flap at highway speed.|

Side windows will actually be sucked in and directly pressed against the bar when set up correctly. This is due to air movement and inside pressures that are less than outside. You can turn the blower on one click and the side windows will puff out - this is with the rear window in. With the rea window out, they will suck in and be against the bar now matter what.
Flapping is usually due to incorrect installation. Usually.
