|NAVYCHIEF||i naver have regreted going soft top. i felt as if the hard top retained the chill longer. and sometimes rained from condensation.|

I always hear how cold my soft top must be (I live in Northern NY near the Canadian border, and -30 is normal in the winter.)
I've never had a problem with it being too cold, other than drafts coming in from my doors not being shut tight enough!
I say go with the soft top--you won't regret it.

its all preference if you don't want your hard top, then you're getting a good deal...as long as the soft top is in good shape. all zippers work and so on.

|NAVYCHIEF||i sold my hard top and doors for $475.00 and a cord of wood. see all jeepers are a little off. personally, i get a little clostraphobic in a hard top. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.|

|abercrombie_fierce||If you have the storage space and money, you could store the hard top somewhere and get the pavement ends flip top. Its a soft top that comes with all new hardware and even works with hard doors. Just an idea. i think that top is like 480 from quadratec. It has the sunroof feature, its pretty cool|

|minderbinder3||That is a great idea. I think I will try my doors on his CJ. Do you guys think that I am crazy for trading my original hard top for a newer soft top with all the bars and hardware? I posted the swap on craigslist and have received lots of interest so it makes me think that I am getting the bad end of the deal. My hard top is not in the best of shape but I would call it decent shape.|

Here is a picture of a top that a guy is wanting to swap me for my hard top. It is on a CJ and the doors appear to be rounded. Does anybody know if this top would cause a problem with my hard doors?

|NAVYCHIEF||is this it?|

|NAVYCHIEF||in the catalog they show a round door matched up with a soft top. look it up and give them a call. this is one of the most frustrating things going.|

|minderbinder3||The problems that I have ran into are that the Best Tops don't fit the full doors because they are rounded versus the square edge of the soft doors. A local Jeep "expert" told me that I would need a "factory replacement" top and that none of the Best Tops would work.|

|NAVYCHIEF||look at quadratec soft top advisor. thry show the 91 hard doors with a best top super top.|

Swapping a hard top for soft top
My '91 YJ has factory full steel doors and a hard top. I am wanting to trade the hard top for a soft top. Does anybody know what my options are? I don't think that a Besttop will work because the doors fit differently. Do they make anything other than a factory top that will work with the full doors?
