|dooder||We did those nylon blocks years ago to friend's ranger and it was nice but the body was too stiff afterwards. and after a while we would have to retorque the bolts. The other downside was the bumper relocation brackets were just a couple of bars of steel and we couldnt figure out how they went. Ok, we were a bit high when we did the install so we just looked at pictures and they didnt make sense. those brackets never did make it onto the ranger.|

|abercrombie_fierce||lol, hey those nylon blocks from performance accessories are crap anyways, i dropped one on the garage floor and chipped a piece off, so i m sure the pucks are just as strong.|

|abercrombie_fierce||well i guess it was the dealership, and that would make sense , because the dealership will pay 90$ for a 3" bl and charge 1000$. And i see your point , i was just saying that my jeep is to go to the beach, and maybe down a dirt road every once in a while, so a bl suits me. And the looks dont seem so bad.|

He copied that from me too.

2. Those trucks up there are not Jeeps. Different mounts etc, may be able to handle higher stress etc vs the jeep mounts.

|abercrombie_fierce||Ive heard someone else do that before , he did it on a old suburban, he also spray painted the back windows black ,|

They are easy to drill and dont shift, break, or make any noise. gonna go to the local rink and get a bucket of old pucks for 5 bucks and replace my torn stock ones on my jeep aswell.|

Body lifts arent that bad.
I dont understand why everyone badmouths body lifts soo much. Ive put a 3" body lift on every vehicle ive ever owned, 88 Ranger, 01 Ranger, 94 Z71, 98 Z71, 95 Chevy 1500 4x2, My friends 96 F150, And they all turned out really good. Yes you have a gap between the rear bumper and tailgate on trucks but its not that unsightly, plus its character. If you just have a jeep that you want to drive to the beach and around town, then a body lift suits your needs, very cheap, very easy to install, the kits come with everything you need, I am in the process of purchasing a YJ just to drive to the beach with my waverunner and i want to put 33"s on it w/out spending much money, so im going to put a 3" body lift and 1" shackles on front , and 1/2" shackles in back to level it out. After all the chrysler dealership down the street actually had 3" bodylifts installed from the factory on some of the TJ's a couple years back. None had suspension. But if you offroad at all, then i guess a susp. lift will be the better bet. Sorry to offend anyone

|nycom96||Thanks for the info....I already have a 4inch suspension and I want to go a little bit more higher for cheap|

|debruins||tops on a BL is two inches, you get past that and you need to extend fuel filler lines and things, also it makes it very unsafe in a roll over, the body will rip out from the frame becaasue it has the 3" more of leverage to rip theough the floor boards|

|whiteyj||The other interference is the 4-wheel shift handle. The 1" kit I had purchased has an extension section to be welded into the shifter shaft. Opted to go with a 2-1/2" suspension lift instead.|

Why not go with a suspension if you want 3 inches?

Are body lifts all that bad as rumored? I wanna do a 3inch but I hear alot from different people saying not to trust them!
Any info is much appreciated
