Beastmaster Nice looking rig, Cap

Meant to post this a while back. After the accident. they had to repaint my hood so I needed to re-do the markings. I've been wanting to install some louvers (found it got really hot under the hood on the trail) so I figured this would be a good time.

Here's the thread BTW: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f314/th...rs-762226.html

I think it came out pretty well:

In WWII the military vehicles had the tire pressure markings on the inside of the wheel well.

As far as the rest of the stuff, well time will tell. I gave my mod list to the body shop so they know what parts are stock and what they will have to order.

Beastmaster Got into an accident.

Some lady did a left turn in front of me Friday. It did quite a bit of damage to my Sarge but I think her little SUV is totaled. I didn't notice when I was taking the pictures today but I think in the first pic, that's her SUV parked next to my Jeep.

Bent my bumper, shoved my tire back braking the shock absorber and bending the lower control arm and axle. There was lots of misc dings, dents and scratches.

Ya, and they're allot lighter lately since I run topless 90% of the time.

It was my first restoration project so all I used was some Krylon I bought from Ace hardware.

On more research, I'm going with some paint made by GCI coatings (shade 33070) for my Willys restoration. Its a much better paint and more period accurate. You can get it from Arpyjeepparts.com. It's roughly the same price and they give a discount if you order 12 or more cans.

I believe the main differences are the tail gate and the lights. The civilian version has a tailgate and 12 volt lights. The military has no tailgate and 6 volt (later 24 volt I believe) lights. My trailer has been heavily modded and has a tailgate (a real "bubba" job) and the blackout lights are long gone in favor of 12 volt civilian ones.

It's a little rough around the edges but I see potential.

I'll post pics as things progress (things will be slow due to time constraints)

Thanks

In most of my pics, I had Covercraft covers in the rear and Smittybuilt seat savers over cheapie seat covers in the front. I'm currently running Trak Armor.
