Although, I am no fire fighter I have seen my share of fires, responded to collisions, and actual vehicle fires. I will absolutely agree with this.
In fact the state of NC issues us 5 pounders for our patrol cars.
2 pounders won't put out a small camp fire let alone a raging vehicle.

5lb is definitely the minimum, ask any firefighter.

|Runkmaster||5lb is kinda big for a vehicle application no? A 2lb would be much easier to store and mount IMO.|

Get some appropriately sized hose clamps and go.

Mounting it on the floor in front of you would be optimal, but it just takes up so much space. I've been meaning to throw mine on the roll bar.
What's the diameter of that extinguisher?

|JeepandMud||From what I've read, most people will mount it near the driver's side space between the seat and the door.|

5lb. Fire Extinguisher Roll Bar Mount
After learning a little about various fire extinguishers for Jeeps, I think a 5lb. ABC provides a nice safety factor over smaller 1-3 lb. units. The problem I'm running into is that there seems to be a lack of roll bar mounts for this 5 lb. size.
Can anyone direct me to a decent fire extinguisher mount that can handle a 5 pounder?
