Cherish those moments. They will never come again. I worked thru most of my girls childhood off at racetracks. I don't miss the racing but I sure wish I had those times at the beach your getting.

Gunner Where you put your tires comes from lots of hours on the trails. I love following the experienced drivers and watching where they place things and how they use the throttle or momentum. It is a pretty awesome balancing act to learn. i've seen guys in really built rigs who were learning and got stuck hand it over to someone who knew the drill and just breeze over the rocks. Lots of skill in real rock crawling. I am hoping to learn it. I like to push myself to see how the jeep reacts and how I drive.

Easy crawling all depends where you put your tires, sometimes the difference between running an obstacle and carnage is just one rock, go figure

Thanks Lisa, it works pretty darn well. Never been to the Panamints, gonna have to visit that area, really need to run Isham and some of the other good stuff that hides around there.

Lab Lover Good morning
We had a great time yesterday, the trail was basically a rutted fire road with one off shoot that had a pretty good section. My Dad's Samari got overheated on the off shoot so we headed back, it was over 100 out. It happened late in the day so it didn't interrupt anything. That little Sami can climb, it's impressive. He's having a new exhaust put on it, it sounds like a riced out Honda, haha. He says driving it gives him flash backs to the bombing of Pearl Harbor and he feels like he should duck....Whatever Dad!!

Mike of course had to go down the tough section, that was a little sketchy, I don't like not being able to see whats ahead and it was a big rock drop off. Naturally after going down he felt we needed to come back up it, that didn't work so well. We didn't air down since we were mostly on fire roads. He got part way up, but with only a front and rear wheel touching, not aired down, we couldn't' get the traction needed to make it up. We backed down (hate that) and went around it. Now he's got it in his mind we need to go back, air down and climb it, lol.

We then headed back to town and got ice cream, my dad said he was headed home and when I mentioned ice cream he immediately said he would just follow us, lol. Everybody loves ice cream

When I was a youngster growing up in Michigan, some people made soup out of Snapping Turtles. Not sure how big they would have to be to render into soup, but I remember seeing some in the swamp that were over a fifteen inches across. I stayed away from anything bigger than a paint turtle the size of a half a dollar. But then, that was a really long time ago.

Not to say we rode a turtle because that would probably be illegal but riding a turtle is a cool thing to do. But of course I wouldn't do such a thing because that would be illegal.

Lab Lover There ought to be some type of fine for letting your jeep sit so long the battery goes dead.......bad Mike!! I hope be has learned his lesson and drives the TJ at least once a week.

I've got a crew of 3 Hispanic guys working in the back yard today and they are awesome! I've been trying to get a couple high school kids to get the drainage creek cleared and they are good kids, but not workers like these guys. Mike said he didn't know how happy a few laborers would make me or he would have hired them a long time ago, haha. Now I can stop griping at him about the fence and creek. I'm sure I can find something else.......just give me a couple days

Gunner Yeah we saw some on Molokai. We rented a jeep there and they were all over the beach.

I am running 30 right now. I think I am going to bump them backup to 35 and see if it makes a difference.

Mine is a very late 13 so I doubt I have the cylinder head problem. It is really quiet under there. We also have been using it for everything. i think it is going to get replaced by the Hyundai as the daily go to ride. It gets about 28 around town.
