Rewind I'm in Starkville. Are you in the Meridian Jeep club?
1monday not sure theres anybody at all here (cue ghost town whistle). i'm @ jaxon
Today 06:35 AM
bdan2 Any jeepers out here from around the Meridian area?
08-27-2014 11:24 AM
Rewind I can see where that might be intimidating. Our club is family oriented so that helps with new members.
08-27-2014 09:38 AM
1monday that is excellent...supposedly there is one here but I haven't been to any of the of these days I'll get the guts to show up as a chick in a room full of guys not knowing a soul
08-27-2014 09:33 AM
Rewind We even have a good Jeep club going in the area now!!!
08-27-2014 07:31 AM
Rewind Thanks, I'll do that!
08-27-2014 12:05 AM
1monday take me some pics, I'll be glad to help you figure out something
08-26-2014 11:54 PM
Rewind I know what you mean about the GIS stuff. I really don't like using it, but have to on occasion.

In my yard I've got a few places that I don't know what to do with.
08-26-2014 11:39 PM
1monday I've taken 2 GIS classes...the first was so over my head that the prof felt sorry for me. The second was so elementary, we didn't learn much...but there's another one for me to take so hopefully it will be the right one.
if you take some pics of your yard space, I can draw it from here without seeing it, unless you need drainage and/or major grade changes.
08-26-2014 11:34 PM
Rewind That sounds cool! I could use a landscape architec on my yard! Do you use ArcMAP in urban planning courses?
08-26-2014 11:21 PM
1monday finished at MSU in landscape studying urban planning
08-26-2014 11:19 PM
Rewind I like it, always learning something new. I only use a small part of it. What are you in school for?
08-26-2014 10:51 PM
1monday r e a l l y...impressive. I was supposed to learn and use it...but I didn't learn it very well and hardly ever use it, especially since I am back in school and it's all theory so far.
08-26-2014 10:38 PM
Rewind I work for an electrical engineering firm doing AutoCAD. Been there 18 years. It's a great job and I really like the town and MSU.
08-26-2014 07:19 PM
1monday What do you do? You must like whatever it is that you're stay in your hometown.
08-26-2014 03:51 PM
Rewind I hear ya!!!! I went to school with the Phillips youngest daughter. Great folks!! I went to MSU for a bit but wasn't ready for it, wound up finishing at EMCC.
08-26-2014 12:22 PM
1monday Haha! I worked at danvers for a minute and the Phillips garden center for several years. Those were the days, for sure. But if I had focused and been a better student then I wouldn't have had to go back again in '10
08-26-2014 09:37 AM
Rewind Yea I remember those days!!! LOL I worked at that little store right off of campus next to "Mr. Cook" in the 80's. That was a lot of fun. Worked the grave yard shift, saw all kinds of stuff!!!
08-26-2014 09:25 AM
1monday I was there in the 80's and again 2010-2012. Definitely had a different feel between those 2 eras
08-26-2014 08:33 AM
Rewind Yea, I drive through it on my way to work but it's not too bad. I go onto campus then I'm heading right off of it and most folks are headed into campus. Of course all of Starkville is a danger zone with the new students least for the first month or so. LOL When were you a student here?
08-26-2014 07:03 AM
1monday you have to drive through all that to get to work everyday??
08-25-2014 11:30 PM
Rewind It gets pretty boring around here with the students gone. When they are here there's always something going on.

Of course right now there are 4,000 freshmen driving here that have only been driving a couple of years at best, in a strange town while talking on their cell phones!
08-25-2014 11:05 PM
1monday I can see that...a quiet break would make you appreciate their livelihood.
I live a stones throw from MS College (Clinton), so I understand, just not quite to the scale of strkville.
08-25-2014 10:57 PM
Rewind I tell folks it's always good to see them come back after summer, but it's also good to see them go home so we have a break. Starkville definitely wouldn't be the same without them!
08-25-2014 10:37 PM
1monday I KNOW! the biggest screens of any college team! wow, we're first in something! (actually, we get a bad rap but we're 1st in more than most would think). My roommate is an architect and has been keeping me in the loop on the expansion progress...drove through there to see it a couple of times this summer. Now if we can just fill up all those seats by having a banner year!
Do you hate the students or do they seem to bring life to the sleepy stkville town?
08-25-2014 10:31 PM
Rewind Yea, it's a great house in a great location. Dad passed in '99 and Mom in '03. I inherited 1/3 of it and bought my 2 brothers 1/3's share. (they both live in Texas)

I still go to a couple of games a year, I can get free tickets usually. If you haven't heard, they're just about to finish a major expansion of the stadium! It's now "U" shaped with a jumbotron on each end.
08-25-2014 06:29 PM
1monday That is soooo cool...but I can see how it wouldn't be a big deal for you now. Pretty neat to live in the house you grew up in too, I never want to live in the delta soooo I doubt it'll ever happen
08-25-2014 06:23 PM
Rewind Yea, I understand. It's much more fun if you can go with folks, maybe even do some tailgating. I don't go to a lot of games, I went to so many when I was a kid. Grew up real close to the campus (walking distance) (now I live in the house I grew up in). When I was a kid I sold cokes in the stands.
08-25-2014 06:18 PM
1monday But southern's last few years have not been the greatest, so we should be fine even if we play bad. I wish I could come to several home games but I don't really know anybody and I went to a game by myself a few years ago and it was horrible, left at half time. I'm a much bigger baseball fan and haven't been to any of those either...I'm a terrible fan (but I always watch when we're on TV)
