SuzieM Hi UK owners,

Did you get VAT as well as Customs Duty added to your soft top order?

I just got the quote from Morris and with shipping, Customs Duty and VAT it only works out £100 cheaper than the UK!

The Trektop WILL fit inside your Jeep.....I would recommend getting/ or making an oversize window bag......and the "TOP" will still be attached to the header but it can be folded and laid across the back end behind the seat by the roll bar...might want to bungy cord it to be sure it doesn't bounce out.

We have made window bags for both our TJ and JK and are very happy with them.

I will try and let you know later on. I plan on putting it on this weekend.

jeepstertim You may be lucky and get away without paying an import duty, I have. The Courier moving will add the duty if they have been charged it, as I say, you may be lucky......

The quotes I have are for a 4 door and I need to be able to fit the dogs and kit in the back so the trek top wouldn't do, also not mad on the looks.

heinzbean suzie my trektop nx was £449.58 delivered.

they made a mistake with my order so I got my postage a little cheaper.
just e-mail them , they will send you a quote which lasts 15days. if you want to take them up on their offer you just pay via pay-pal.
import duty ??? don't know unless I am going to get sent a bill .

Both would take 5-7 days which suggests to me Outback were going to order it from the states as well. I'm going to use Morris in the US.
Awesome. I will get it from Morris. I only recently found out about the Twill top, think it is too much over my budget. Any reason why you are going Supertop over Trektop? Just looks? I still need to find out if you can store the Trektop roof in the car or it has to stay at home. Might have to email Bestop USA as Bestop UK were useless.

Those who have the Trektop can you store the top and windows in the car?

That's good to know. Was Morriss the best price? How much is shipping and imprint tax?

Gjersey84 The Supertop is basically the same as the OEM soft top and the Trektop is made up of multiple pieces and can be configured differently. Basically, the Supertop you can have either the sunrider open or the top all the way down. When it comes to the Trektop it will come in 4 pieces or something if i remember correctly. What that allows you to do is run all the pieces on the jeep and you can open up a sunrider top just like the Supertop or you can take all the back windows off and run it as a safari top. Obviously you can also take the entire thing off and go topless.

All in all, the supertop is going to be a bit easier to deal with if you want to go sunrider or just topless but the Trektop will give you more configurations but is a little bit more work I suppose. It all comes down to what you want to deal with and what you want in the end!

jbook I just installed my Trektop NX this past weekend. I was hoping for warm weather but instead had partly sunny/mostly cloudy 50degree(Fahrenheit) weather. The is install probably took closer to 2 hours. Mostly because it was so tight due to the cold. I ended up having my wife and niece using hair dryers to warm up each window so I could attach them. So in the end it was a bit difficult to install but I love it now that it is on. I'm sure it would have been much easier if it was 70 out.

if you're waiting for the weather to get better in the UK before you put it on, good luck

xcoaste The Supertop NX is a tad hard to initially put together, but putting the top up and down is breeze. It is much easier for me to put it up and down than previous TJ and YJ's. My vote is that if you want to take the top up and down frequently.

Sorry another soft top thread!

Hi guys,

I have just joined the forum. I know there have been quite a few soft top threads but I still have a few questions so here I am.

I own a 2dr JK and as the freedom panels constantly leak and getting the hard top off is a pain in the summer I was thinking about getting a soft top this year. I am trying to choose between the Bestop Supertop NX and Trektop NX. I live in the UK so I don't have the worry of the hot sun but it would be good to have the top to hand just in case there is the odd rain shower.

Does anyone have any preferences, or any pros or cons to add to either top? Any advice would be gratefully received.

Can the Trektop top be stored in the car or do you have to leave it at home? Is the Supertop frame easy to install and lower?

Cheers
