RUBI 4 MY MRS There is no relay for the overall wiper operation but the delay relay & the delay logic & relay control (both used for intermittent operation) are contained within the wiper switch. Most likely the switch needs replacing. There is a complete diagnostic procedure in the FSM, one linked below if you don’t have one. For 2000 the page you need is page 7 in the Wipers & Washer Systems chapter.

See online read only FSMs here:
Jeep Knowledge Base
You may have to go to the bottom of the page & pick Jeep Resources & online manuals if it directs you to home page rather than the knowledge base.
Pick your model & year then on the drop down menu pick the chapter you need.

TTTE No top down/doors off muddin damage. its weird. When it happens, the off position and intermittent appear to be the same thing. Heres what weird. If i shut the jeep off, and go into work, it has stopped when i start the jeep to go home.

Wattapunk Did you have the top down or doors off during the rain ? There's a good chance the wiper circuit got wet from the rain and caused your issues. It may resolve after a few days of air drying.

JimsJeep In the long run you are probably just better off picking up a new wiper switch with delay. Used one go for about $25.

KaiserJeep The odd part about wipers is that they switch the GROUND side of the circuit, not the power, so that there is always power to return the wiper to the rest position. You will always find 12v present, and either the wiper stalk will connect the ground continuously, or the intermittant wiper circuit will pulse the ground connection periodicly.

In this case, you have a short to ground in the intermittant wiper circuit. Look for it with an ohm meter with the battery disconnected and the wipers OFF.

TTTE I just checked the fuse, it's good. I took it out for a temp fix. Still need to find location of wiper relay.

TTTE Oh, and it rained last night. Maybe a short? What do you think?

Wipers won't stop working

When I turn the key on, the wipers seem to be stuck in intermittent. I noticed it after I warmed my car up this morning. Can anyone tell me where the relay/fuse is for the wiper? Diagram would help. Thx
