2007 JK Rear End Popping Noise?

I own a 2007 Jeep JK. I have 50,000 miles on it and for about the past 15,000 I have noticed a poping noise in the rear end area. It happen when going fron rev. to drive as soon as i take off. Just a quick loud pop. It also happens when taking off in drive when the jeep is not setting level. Has anyone else had this problem? I have heard it can be the ring and pinion gears but im not sure?
