8008135 It was a blast! That's for taking the time to teach some n00bs the basics! I have managed to get about 80% of the dust out!

sittingduck331 Going up, it will be fine.

Depends on how you go home. If you go the graded road out (quick trip home), it can be dusty if you follow someone close.

8008135 Is it a dusty drive up? I have the back off but don't want to come out looking like a coal miner at the end of the day? I'm bringing a friend in a new TJ too.

sittingduck331 Update:

75f is the high in Crown King on Sunday

Do not come is you do not have a spare tire.

Bring lots of water and some snacks.

You do not need a 100k rock buggy to make the trip.

I have done it in a 4x4 stock Toyota Truck, many of time.

You can brake off any time you want, again this is just a show and tell trip for anyone who wants to be shown the way up.

Once we get to Crown King, again you can brake off and check out the town, views...

Feel free to eat anywhere you want. Do what ever you want... You do NOT have to eat with anyone going up in the group. In other words, if you just want to be shown how to get to Crown King but not be stuck with anyone you do not know. That is perfectly acceptable.

Robert C. Yes i can just dint have a welder lol dont have that kind of money. Well i dont know exactly how it broke but the last run i did was the back way to crown king. I hit all the hills i passed one but i am not sure if it was cracked before i went. I found out that my control arms where upside down(the oil sert was pointed down not up ) ill try and post a pic of it but it put alot of pressure on the mount when flexed out. I got the jeep with the procomp lift on it
04-17-2013 09:10 PM
sittingduck331 Wait, how did you brake it in the first place? Has to be a good story.

Side note, can you weld?
04-17-2013 09:04 PM
sittingduck331 I like my Rubicon Express Lift. The Jeep only gets off road miles. Currently I have not had any issues.

However it is not a daily driver, so it does not have that everyday wear and tear.

Robert C. Ya it was the factory one. And yes i want aftermarket ,any suggestions
04-17-2013 08:12 PM
sittingduck331 Was it your factory one that failed?

Are you going with an aftermarket one?
If so what brand?
04-17-2013 06:56 PM
Robert C. I don't doubt the weld but its my daily driver lol dont want to push my luck

Lake Pleasant to Crown King Sunday April 21st.

Hello all,

I friend of mine asked me to take him and his new rig up to Crown King this Sunday April 21st.

Will be meeting up Sunday between 8:00am-8:30am at the McDonalds/Frys parking lot located on Carefree highway and I-17 on the North East side of the road (can not miss it). Other groups will be there as well I am sure.

I have ran this many times in a stock 4x4 with no issues. The run is very safe and is a lot of fun.

The trail will have others on it from Motorcycles to full on rock buggies. No shortage of people.

You can choose to bypass any of the hard trails as we make our way up.

Trip will be most of the day (about 4-5 hours) to get up. Once up there, eat lunch check out the beautiful area. Then drive down a graded dirt road (with killer views) back at the I-17 and Bloody Basin Rd in less then an hour.

This will be our trip.

If you have never been to Crown King, you should go sometime. The food is great. Town welcomes 4x4/off road crowd. It is a great spring/fall trip to enjoy.
