|groovebus||I'm down here in OC and I do Santa Ana mountains just for fun. It's basically just an access road for the towers on top. But it gets pretty messed up, err more fun, when it's muddy and the "I want to get my pickup dirty" bro's go up and rearrange the roads a bit. There are alot of more difficult side trails if you are looking for something harder. The Main divide road runs all the way from Ortega hwy to the 91 along the top. I go up through Silverado canyon road to Maple springs.|

I've done all these in the wife's Liberty so your JKU is good to go! These are all 30 minutes to an hour from San Dimas also.
Cleghorn, Pilot Rock, and Sugarpine are near Silverwood and are easy trails as long as you stick to the main roads.
Willow Creek starts where Pilot Rock ends, it is an easy trail that goes behind Lake Arrowhead.
Skyline Drive is a nice and easy road that goes behind the ski resorts in Big Bear.

|dshortone||Thanks! Looks like there are a lot of local trails closed, but I guess that's how it's going to be. At least there are a lot options within 50-100.|

|Gunner||Look up Dirtopia.com. they have a lot of the local trails listed with maps and almost turn by turn directions. I've not been over there yet but I bet there are a few.|

|dshortone||I did try the Holcomb Valley trail (the basic tour, car-friendly), and that was fine when we were up in Big Bear.|

Looking for an easy trail SoCal-SGV
I've been wanting to do an easy trail. Basically, if it isn't paved, and there is little risk involved, I'm all in. Boring, I know.
Stock JKU with lots of money owed on it still. I'm in the San Dimas area and would like to stay within 30 miles if possible.
Suggestions or ideas? I wish there was a dummies book for this.
