Water Dog Try holding a piece of wire on the outside of the socket base with the other end against a piece of bare metal on the Jeep (ground) with your turn signal on. If it starts working, you have a bad ground. Also check for corrosion in the socket itself.

Atthehop I believe they ground through the mounting screws to the body.

Atthehop Do you have tail light guards. They are known for creating faulty grounds and light problems.

Left side taillight and directional wont work.

I have a 97 TJ and the left directional and taillight won't come on. I switched both bulbs and couldn't find a fuse that went specifically to one side. The dash light flickers on and off fast like the bulb needs to be replaced. Any ideas?
