kballard72 I know an old thread but jsut received my Superchip flashcal.

deciding factors for me.

Menu driven versus dip switches
OFF road mode download to kill tpms
upgradable to a full tuner later should I decided to do octane tunes for 170 bucks. I know I did not want to full tuner now but the ability to get the feature later as a download made this the reprogrammer for me...

ONE note: marry the tuner to your jeep (connect it) then go download the TPMS offroad add on.

BagerX2 Well I got the flashcal updated and did my measurements for the adjustment. I have cooper st maxx 255/80R17s on the jeep. I measured them with 32-33 psi and they came out somewhere between 32-32.25inches in height. The guide says to round up so I set it at 32.25. When the speedo is on 50 my iPhone GPS app says I'm doing 48/49. So my question is can I get it more accurate or is that as accurate as I can get it? If I go up to 35psi will it be closer? Suggestions...
Sorry if this is kind of a derail of the topic.

BagerX2 Well my flashcal got here today, bit my router died so I can't update it for my 14...

panthermark I'm leaning towards a Procal simply to turn on my DRL's. (It seem like the Procal has less issues, plus they work with Jeep).

A couple of questions:
I want to turn on my fogs as DRL's, has anyone had issues with premature bulb burn out with the half-power amount being supplied?

Any issue with DRL's not playing nice with the auto-headlights?

Thanks

NW Rubicon I just used Flash Cal on my Rubicon to adjust tired size and TPMS. Worked great. Very easy process.

ccava Update:
A fellow local Jeeper agreed to let me try his Flashcal, I agreed just to get a 4th perspective and low and behold it worked! So I reluctantly rolling the dice, ordered another and hope it works. If not my friend has agreed to exchange his for the new one I ordered.

And down time.

They did not “feel” Responsible. Even though everything worked fine until I plugged in the programmer. Easy to say to me you can’t prove it was us who did that. When in fact it has happened to many others the same way.

SuperCrap did send me my PCM and "told me it was good" another BS line from them. If it was "good" then why did they try to have me update it right after I got it from them??????? More BS from Superchip.

I can tell you why. Because it wasn't any good and they knew it, they were using me as a "test" they wanted my PCM program to further there sales. Which I consider that “STEALING” from them. All that just to say "we have a working" 2014 JK programmer when in the end they did not and to this day do not have a working program. Its your vehicle you can do what you think best as for me I would stay away.
I definately feel your frustration!
For me I have to keep finding a manufaturer to work on my Jeep because of the gear change has caused it to go into limp mode and will not shift down or up from 3rd. Superchips is out though I will not try to use them anymore. I am thinking of trying AEV Procal next.

Recently bought a procal from a well known Jeep shop that does a lot of custom work. They use procal on all Jeeps and service manager says they don't have any problems including 2014 models. The dip switches are really easy to use. I installed mine a week and all settings worked great. Good luck.

When I got it back it trashed my transmission. At first my jeep would not start, after three "downloads" recommended by Flashpac it still did not work (that took a week) I was down and with only one vehicle to get to work with I had to borrow a ride.

Four weeks latter I just got my Jeep back from the dealer trying to find out what happened to it. To much to list what they did but in the end I would say

I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A SUPERCHIP PRODUCT AGAIN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

SuperChips admitted to me that they did not have a working FlashPac for a 2014 Jeep automatic. Superchips fell off the face of the earth “NO HELP” from them after the last three attempts to fix the problem.

It got very difficult to deal with them and they did not fix the problem.

SHAME ON YOU SUPERCHIPS.
I would like to know more about the specifics of what your end result was. Here is my similar situation. I have a 2013 10th ann. Rubicon and approximately 6-7 weeks ago got 35" tires and ordered a S.C. flash-Cal. It would not work, it kept falling into limp mode with a P0733, 3rd gear ratio incorrect. Sent it back to 4wheel parts for a replacement after using my co-worker's flashcal and his worked. Got the replacement from 4wheel, and it didn't work either. Called Superchips and they wanted me to talk to an engineer on the phone while excepting downloads to try to resolve the problem, but I have a Mac computer and could not find a windows based computer to use so I got frustrated and asked for a refund and they granted it.
It has been running so-so for 6 weeks or so at stock settings with an off-speed, speedometer and okay shifting.
Fast forward to this past friday and I had 4.88:1 gears installed and unknowing to me, it would fall into limp mode for gears. Installer assumed I had a re-callibrator due to having 35" tires. Again the trans. sticks in 3rd gear and will not move from it. I had to drive it home 45 miles stuck in 3rd. This morning my co-worker brings me his flashcal again (he set his to stock) so I could program it and if it worked he was gonna sell it to me. It would not work, it threw a P0731 1st gear ratio incorrect. We tried 9 different tire and gear ratio settings to no avail. Its Saturday and I cannot talk to anybody, this is my daily driver. UGGGGGHHHHH! I'm very frustrated at this. I don't know whether I should try AEV Procal or go to my dealer with it, they said they can only flash factory gear settings. I wonder if there could be a transmission problem? Please help with any good advise, anyone else experiencing this?
04-26-2014 06:20 PM
Ubear7 Sorry to hear all the bad experiences. I've had no problem with mine. I was even thinking of the added upgrade to the tuner. Anyone here done that?
04-26-2014 06:13 PM
Dirty White Boy Like I said 2013 jk
04-26-2014 06:11 PM
Dirty White Boy Mines works great improved almost 2 mpg and no issues at all on 2013. But it's locked to my jeep I'm pretty sure.

Stick with the Procal

I'd agree with others, Superchips customer service is horrible.
I too was tempted by the fancy LCD, bought one in February to handle my new larger tires on my stock '11 JK Sport auto. The unit errors out at end of the update process reporting 'program failure'
Support says they are working on it and they will get back to you within 5-10 days. Been nearly 3 months now and despite numerous calls, they never get back to you.

So my 2c, avoid Superchips at all costs. Sure some people have no issues, but if you're one of the unlucky ones like me, you're left with an expensive paper-weight sitting in your garage. ...and having to deal with a company that doesn't stand behind its product.

loud pipes Many +'s and -'s for each it seems. I am struggling with the same decision for a 2012 3.6L with a 6 spd m/t. The dip switches seem pretty antiquated, yet dependable. (Sort of like mechanical linkages vs electronic haha). Too bad AEV doesn't come out with an app to control the module like some OBD tools (torque or enginelink). I am leaning towards Procal - hard to argue with AEV quality across all product lines.

Shifty219 I must be one of the lucky ones, my flashcal works great
02-23-2014 09:15 PM
Utahpete I am glad I am only having the problem with the TPMS
the last thing I would do now is upgrade my Flashcal to a Flashpac, since they can't even get that to work right.
Customer service is poor, I haven't gotten an email returned in weeks

Uin2it SCT (http://www.sctflash.com/) will be coming out with a tuner here pretty quick! For 07-14 JK w/auto.
They are big in the Mustang/F150 arena and will be most excellent in this market too Im guessing!

*Ive had an SCT Tuner on all my vehicles since 2004

That's interesting...I had a completely different issue. I set mine to 25 initially. The low pressure light came in and the EVIC said, "INFLATE-25" even though the pressure was around 30psi. After a week or so of being driven crazy by the chime every time I started my Jeep, I pulled the Flashcal out again and reprogrammed it to 29, thinking 25 may be below the street legal tolerances the Flashcal is supposedly capable of out of the box. It did the same thing...triggered the light and said, "INFLATE-29". I tried it at 29 again and it took. I then set it to 25 (through the process two times), and all is well.

FrontRange575 Does the flashpaq from SuperChips help or improve on ProCal with the following issues?:

1) Going from stock Rubicon wheel setup on 2014 JKU R/X to 2.5" AEV lift and 35" Toyo's M/T, --shift points stink after AEV ProCal programming. Engine red-lines going up hills out of Denver before tranny shifts up (2nd gear to 3rd especially).
2) TPMS setting changes in ProCal have not worked after several attempts.
3) Daytime running lights? Cannot get it to work. Could be operator error I'll admit.

Just Curious if SuperChips is better than ProCal in these areas.
