Big Bad Jeep Never mind on the last question. After doing some hunting around I found a wiring kit I liked. Thanks again on the hitch pointers.

Big Bad Jeep I do not serious rock crawl, I go mudding more. So clearance is not a big issue. I think I will go with the Draw Tite from quadratec. It is a lot cheaper then Curt. Thanks guys for the info! One more question where is a good place to buy trailer break light kit?

Jerry Bransford The above advice to avoid a bolt on hitch is right on. They bolt on underneath the bumper which leave so little ground clearance in the rear that the hitch will drag incessantly when you are offroading.

If you offroad, you will be MUCH better off replacing your OE bumper with an aftermarket bumper that has an integrated receiver hitch at bumper height.

You can kinda-sorta see what I'm talking about on this very old pic of my previous TJ taken on Sunbonnet in Johnson Valley.

^^X2. I put a curt receiver on mine when I first got it, and although it bolted on easy and worked good, it hung down to low for using the Jeep off road. Sold it on CL 6 months after I bought it.

Dextreme I have a Curt (#13408) and it works fine.

UnlimitedLJ04 get a bumper w/ integrated hitch and frame tie-ins.

I'd suggest:
knoblockbumpers
eBay My World - knoblockbumpers
or
GroundPounderFab
eBay My World - gpfabrication

What is a good Hitch to buy?

Hey all! I am shopping for a hitch receiver and just wanted some pointers on what is good hitch to buy. I will be towing a 12ft western boat, don't know the exact weight but nothing over the jeeps limit. I have been looking at the Draw Tite Round Tube Max-Frame Receiver. Is this a good hitch? I have a 2000 tj with a four in lift on 33's if that helps.
