In October of 2002 I begged my wife to let me buy a 2003 Rubicon because I would not need to do anything to it. $10,000.00 Later... You know how it goes.

Then in December of 2007!!!

You know how it goes.

The Jeep JK Rubicon King is a purpose-built rockcrawler stripped of all creature comforts. “Basically, the vehicle is stripped of everything you don’t need. It’s stripped down for rock crawling. They even took the radio out,” said Mark Allen, senior manager of Jeep Truck Design Studio. In addition there is no rear seat and in it’s place is the spare tire mount. Suspension components are supplied by Superlift and achieve 4” of extra lift which allow fitment of the 37x12.5x17 BFGoodrich Krawler TA’s. Wheels are VERY TRICK custom Mopar – Hutchinson beadlocks, with wider fender flares to keep things street legal. An interesting feature is the American Expeditions heat reduction hood which is vented to help keep the motor cool. On the drivetrain side, parts have been carried over from the earlier Rubicons with the 4:1 ratio Rock-Trac transfer case and Tru-Lok equipped Dana 44 axles.

AzTJ That orange one is the Rubicon King JK.
