Jaxpilot Thanks All.

Zach,
I read all the threads in ExtremeTerrain and picked up on the 5% code. Hopefully I can get to 50 posts soon and pick up the extra discount.

Wranglin4Life Paul,

Welcome to the forum! Im glad your wife is doing well and seems to be pulling through the treatment well. I know several people who have gone through it and its no easy road.

Unfortunately Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket which apparently you are already doing. Lol. Its a fun vehicle to have though, I bought my first one a few years ago, sold it for a commuter car and then almost 6 months later had to get another one. I just couldn't stand not having one. Congrats on the purchase and best of luck with it.

Greetings from Sunny FL

Hi all,
I'm brand new to the Jeep culture, and just bought a new 2013 JKUS (at least I've learned some acronymns already!) in Billet Silver with the 24S package, premium soft top, connectivity package, and the Max Tow package. It was my wife who led me to the Jeep. In the 13 years I have known her she has always wanted a jeep. We have 2 young sons, 5 and 8, and when it came time to replace her 98 mustang convertible, I tried to get her to buy her Jeep. She went the practical route, and bought a 38 mpg Hyundai Sonata hybrid last year.

My 2000 4runner got hit and totaled while parked a couple of weeks ago, and I started looking at replacements. My wife just completed chemo and radiation for breast cancer, and is recovering from the treatments. Prognosis is good, but it's been a tough road. So, the night before I started shopping for a new vehicle, she made an offhand comment that had she known she was going to get cancer, she would have bought a Jeep instead of the Hyundai. So, what could I do but buy her a Jeep, right?

Furious research Friday night, into Saturday morning, did the USAA, CR and TrueCar research, and went for a test drive Saturday morning. Totally surprised driving the JKUS - way better ride than expected, comfortable to me, and just fun! Went to a couple of other dealerships, explored options and costs, and settled on what I wanted. While I couldn't get her a bright yellow one, Sunday afternoon we drove home "Salty" the Jeep.

Drove it for a week to work to break it in, top down everyday and I have already grown to LOVE it. However, I have this new compulsive disorder whereby I have already melted down my credit card at Quadratec, ExtremeTerrain, and KrawlOff-Road, and have a giant wish list already started!

Now I understand what people mean when they say "It's a Jeep Thing!"

I've already picked up a ton of good info (and a few discounts) from the site, so I look forward to joing this community.

Paul
