AZwhite99 Ok thanks! That does help! Also real quick, how much room do you have between your driveshaft and neutral safety switch?

flflash The automatic front shaft I have is 2" diameter. Hope that helps!

AZwhite99 Ok thank you for the help!

flflash I have a stock auto shaft in the shop I'll measure tomorrow and get back to you, I agree 2.5 dia sounds like a manual shaft. The auto one is very small dia.

AZwhite99 If someone could tell me the diameter of there front driveshaft that would be great, thank you!

Jerry Bransford It has been 3+ years since I last saw my TJ I switched to that transmission which required I swap to the smaller diameter driveshaft. So I am not 100% sure but 2.5" seems like it may be the larger diameter shaft meant for a manual transmission.

Can someone with a 97-99 32rh auto transmission measure their front driveshaft diameter?

AZwhite99 My front drive shaft is 2.5" in diameter. I'm not sure how to tell if it's the OE driveshaft. I do have am automatic so I'm not sure why there would be a manual driveshaft in it. And yes, I have a 3.5 RE lift, we have adjusted the track bar to try and center the front axle but that seems to have done no good.

Patrick H Is your Jeep lifted? If so, have you centered the front axle? I'm not sure, but it seems I remember this could be an issue with what you're dealing with.

Jerry Bransford Are you running the OE (skinny) automatic version of the front driveshaft? The front driveshaft that is used with a manual transmission is too wide (fat) for use with the automatic.

Request - neutral safety switch picture please.

I have been having an ongoing problem of my front drive shaft hitting the neutral safety switch on my 3 speed automatic. There is a 3.5 inch rubicon express lift on the jeep. If anyone can post a picture of the distance they have between their drive shaft and the neutral safety switch that would be greatly appreciated! I would really like to fix this problem.

Thanks!
