Not all of them had 4.56's. You may have either. Just check it.

jasongind I have a 5-speed with 4:10's (Rubi) and 35" Opencounty's and its a pig. Propebably a little worse since I do have the Opencountry's since they are E load tires and weight a bit more than C load 35's. I'd regear but plan on selling this and going with a JK Unlimited for the family.

Ianscl7 PO did an engine swap to I6 4.0 manual.

And the 33's and 3" BL were already there

Islander10 It is what it is , 35's are weigh more than 33's, didn't you notice from stock to the 33' there was a diff
04-26-2013 07:18 PM
PStov98TJ You'll want 4.88's with 35's then
04-26-2013 06:32 PM
Ianscl7 I mean yes 3.73 and it's a 5 speed. I'm on 33x12.5 and it's not so bad
04-26-2013 06:26 PM
5spdftw It will suck big time but i suppose anything is livable for a little while. And when I say big time, I mean more suckage than you could possibly imagine. You will have no power. I had a Jeep on 32s with 4.10s and it had zero power, I cringe at 35s with 3.73s.

Islander10 I think he meant 3.73 with auto trans,
Width of tire will make a huge difference, I went from a 32* 10 inch to a 33* 12.5 inch. Well with the diff in gas mileage -1.5 per gallon
And the loss of low end power. I can say the power loss for a 35* 12.5 would be to great for me. Plus if you highway drive you would alway for sure have to leave overdrive off. Just wouldn't work. So if you have to have 35's, then re gear that rig.
It does work just not to good.

PStov98TJ Never heard of a 3.78 in a jeep. But what engine & tranny do you have?
04-26-2013 03:15 PM

Going up to 35's

I have to get new tires soon and I have 33's but I want to go to 35's.

My dilemma is that I have a 3.78 ratio.

I know the ideal is 4.56 or 4.88 but would the 3.78 hold over for a while?
