I waited to order mine until I saw Tank and it was exactly what I hoped it would be, but for some reason I decided against a dark jeep. My wife is the one who got me looking at Anvil and after I completely wrote it off due to the interweb pics, really liked it on th elot. I guess Anvil isn't really a "bright" color but it can be in certain lights.

On a side note, didn't do anything to my JKU today, but did order some Ace Rock Rails, full set of GraBars, the Northridge bolt kit, and $52 worth of pixeldecals! While I was emptying my wallet for the month I then decided to get on Amazon and ordered a set of McGard locking lugs in black (84563BK), 303 Aerospace Protectant, 303 High Tech Fabric Guard, and Plexus for the soft windows.

Had to use three passes (because the previous owner spray painted the bumpers it seems) at 3:1 dilution, the bumpers look brand new.

Try it also on your tires, 1:1 ratio, the tires look awesome. I tried 303 several times for outside plastics but it never got the result I hoped for. Also, great thing about PERL is that you can also use it on the soft top, to get the dark color back...my top looks slightly faded.

Also, if I can suggest Aquapel for the outside windows, I have only used rainx for windshield washer fluid, and it managed to block my pump because of slime build up. I can show you photos
Aquapel is quite expensive, but it seems to be one of the best treatments for exterior windows.

Love the color!
Thanks for these great ideas! I'm already disappointed in the rainx on the side windows (might have been inadequately buffed out, though!) so will for sure check out your ideas on that as well as the other stuff.

Brought home my ordered 2015 Willy's on Sep 16, without dealer detail because I wanted to do it my way. Finally on Sep 25 I was able to get started on some stuff, so I gave it a bit of a wash with an emphasis on the black parts. Treated my old hardtop (I had kept it during my trade-in) with Mother's Back to Black, then hit the whole rig with Aerospace 303. Installed my front mud flaps, console cover, and door sill protectors and went out of town.

Returned Monday and yesterday was able to spend the day with my jeep and really hit it. I did the following:

Wash painted parts of Jeep
Tape off unpainted black plastic parts
Chemical Guys Clay Bar with Luber
Chemical Guys Jet Seal Paint Sealant
Chemical Guys Pete's 53 Paste Wax
Remove tape
Re-treat unpainted black plastic with 303
Tire Shine on Tires (wheels got the paint sealant and wax)
Rain X on glass
Installed Coverking Neoprene Seat Covers
Installed locking gas cap

Now I'm heading out to hand my grab handles and see if I can put on my new locking hood latches, and that might be just about it for the time being.

Here are some before, during, and after shots of the initial big detail.

Woo HOO! It never leaves the garage again....

Congrats!

Now you have to mod the house: tool storage, hardtop hoist, turn the backyard into your own private mudpit...

BMWJ08 I picked my 2014 JKRU from the dealer as it had its head replaced. So I brought it home and installed Safari straps as it is getting close to the time where I can remove the hard top here in the Sonoran desert. Glad to get my rig back after 18 days in the shop just 2 months into owning it. Brighter days ahead let's hope.

Thanks! For awhile I struggled between the two as well. There weren't many ZX's out there that i could find for reference. Even fewer with the polished lip. Ultimately, I couldn't resist. Hoping to see another ZX brother out there soon

WranglerChik Finally got it right!!!

Got my Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 tires put on and lift kit installed! Went with RK stock replacer coils and I painted them light blue. Replaced the old steering stabilizer with OME.
I loved a video on YouTube with a Jeep using a Teraflex lift and Fox reservoir shocks so I bought the performance shocks as the reservoirs are too high tech for me as a beginner.

Finally drives awesome! Still have yet to take it on the highway.

Not trying to high jack the thread, but can someone direct message me if they don't mind in reference to the coil springs and the fact that the driver side is bowing inward--plus want to ask some questions about more parts I should buy to cushion these things.

My guy is new at this obviously.

Here are some pics -- damn I'm wordy!

Hey thanks! I'm obsessed now with getting the stickers right, so I bought the old school robotic looking wrangler 4.0L sticker. Haha I can never make up my mind.

Sorry I got back to you so late. The covers are actually made from plastic. Truly not worth the $35 I paid as far as quality, but definitely worth it for design. I bought them on amazon.
