st1264 I just bought SS side steps like these:

Attachment 998337

and I'm saving up for these wheels AR Fuel (Gloss Black w/machined lip)

I think they'll compliment each other quite well on my black 13' JKU Sport S. I want to do something different than the 'flat black' look that everyone and their brother is doing right now.

I feel the same way when I see plasti-dipped factory wheels

Individual taste.

Polished...I had to get something that improved the stance. Now to work on the bumpers, but that will be for another mod.

MrBS I have always been a black out rim guy myself, but since I bought the thing for the wife, I found one with the 18 inch OEM chrome 5 spoke rims on it. I think she will like it - but not my thing.....

/sry can't post pics yet.....

Is it a no no to put a web link?

st1264 Don't think chrome will ever go out of style, but flat black seems to be the in thing. Personally I think wheels should be noticed, so the "black out" type phenomenon doesn't appeal to me. I do like 'classic styled' chrome/machined wheels on JK's. Why do flat black like everyone else is doing. Do your own thing.

BacaraJKU Looks alright with the right colors and not over done. Was at Costco today and saw '12 Sport Unlimited Silver with Chrome Door handles, 16" chrome wheels with stock tires and the steel spare still on the back. Just don't understand sometimes. Kind of like the guy at discount asking me if I only wanted 4 wheels/tires with my upgrade I'm doing in that department. You have to do 5. Haha.

I've seen it done right on white, not sure about other colors.

UtahWrangler We were wheeling/mudding with white and chrome rims back in the day and loved it. Hell, no one had black rims. Nothing wrong with chrome, white, black or whatever type/look you choose. The anti-chrome theme on this board cracks me up.

Syntackz Anyone have a Sahara Tan with chrome wheels?

Im starting to look at replacing my stock steelies, black is the obvious choice to go with the tan, but I am curious what chrome may look like on it.

Sebastian F7 I run chromes on my rig. I love the look but they are a REAL PITA to keep clean.
I wont be going chrome again.

Looks good ^. Thanks for the pics.

The Method Race Machined wheels might be my faves on this thread, but are a little pricier at around $180/wheel.

I have put chrome wheels on pickups and cars in the past, not sure how good they'd look on a JK.

Anyone run chrome?

Feel free to post pics of your chrome wheels (if anyone has them) on your JK. I'd like to see how they look, is all.
I'm having my new wheels, polished Mickey Thompson Classic II's, installed Monday. I'll post pics when I get it back

Old Dogger My neighbor has a all black JKU with everything chromed that can be chromed. 4 in lift with 37s. He uses it mainly as a Mall Crawler. His license plate says HUMMER 4 on it. With all that chrome there is some similarity to a Hummy.
For me, as for chrome, well I can take it or leave it..................

st1264 I'm seeing a few local guys running their stock wheels, dipped flat black. Not my thing. Seems most like the "stealth" look... Saw one a Walmart, I was with 2 other guys and they were also thumbs down (maybe because we're all late 30's to 40)?

I want to swap in new wheels to distance myself from the hundreds of Jeeps I see that are running the same stock wheels, which I'm learning to dislike. I like black/machined lip, black with SS/lugs&cap or full machined wheel with black accents. Not going to go full "bright" wheels or flat black. In the middle with contrast.
