Jeep CJ and YJ Boatside Rocker Panels
THIS, well, I would have to go Hardcore for this, but it WOULD cure the tweaked tub.....
|12-14-2013 01:31 AM|
|2xs||Good point, thank you...|

|c5wagner||I like those, just be warned if you do crawling, Seats with a high head rest block your view|

|c5wagner||I have these seats in mine and they were only $150 each and I like them Smittybilt 44915 Denim Black Standard Bucket Front Seat : Amazon.com : Automotive|
|12-13-2013 10:07 PM|
So, Im looking around at the stuff that it would take to put my YJ back to "SUPER AWESOME" condition again...
Seats are about 250ish each
then there is:
13201 01 Fold Foward Seat Riser Jeep CJ YJ Wrangler 1976 1995 Driver Side | eBay
Rust Repair Panels | Auto Body Parts | Replacement Floor Pans
52058121AB Crown Frame Crossmember Rear Jeep Wrangler YJ 87 95 TJ 97 06 | eBay
RFP8795 M O R E Rear Frame Reinforcing Plate Jeep Wrangler YJ 1987 1995 | eBay
an Ebay tailgate for $200
And instead of slightly pulling the tub back together to straighten the slight kink below front of the doors (or loosen the body mounts and shim to straighten), there is:
Jeep YJ Rocker Guards
Jeep YJ Body Armor
Then I can go forward with my 8.8 and NV3550, and regear to 4:88
all paid with the money I get in the settlement, that MIGHT EVEN BE less then KBB if I BS it right... so if thats the case, NO Salvage title!

|12-12-2013 04:22 PM|
|simonclay||Wow. I've been there before. Stay positive.|
|12-12-2013 03:41 PM|
They will probably total it.....
Ill be looking to buy it back from the insurance, and eithre part it out, or patch it and sell it, swapping my goodies onto another YJ.
|12-12-2013 03:26 PM|
|simonclay||Holy shit! Is the other persons insurance covering it?|
|12-12-2013 03:20 PM|
|2xs||Just got the estimate, $7k!|
|12-12-2013 02:59 PM|
|simonclay||Wow, that absolutely sucks! Keep us updated on the damage. This isn't the first thread I've seen where a jeep was in an accident and the other vehicle was worse off. Goes to show that metal beats plastic any day|

|2xs||Here is where the tub is tweaked.|
|12-12-2013 12:45 PM|
On my way in to work this morning, got rear ended by a dumb $#!+ that was texting...
Ill be looking for a new Jeep soon as the tub is warbed below the front of the doors.
Ill post more pics later, got an estimate on the way, and its currntly at the exhaust shop while Im at work making sure its driveable (alignment and repairing the tailpipe).
Last pic is the dumba$$ that hit me...

Ok, im post 141 I attached 2 pics of my Alternator setup with an aftermarket A/C system, I had previously removed all the A/C except for the compressor, and only left the compressor so there was something to turn my alternator.
I just got, and installed a O.E. bracket so I can install the Alternator in the stock location.
Last Monday on my way home from work, it threw a belt, actually took out ALL my belts, and I have finally gotten tired of it as it was NOT the first time.
Here is how it sits now, with some random pics throughout the process, and yes, I painted it body color, but scratched the crap out of it installing the alternator.... Oops...

Ordered my Barnes 3" drop skid:
Jeep YJ 3" Drop Skid Plate
I would have gone with the 2" drop, but with the NV3550 ill need the room, and no, I cant install a body lift, im at the limits of my garage now....
This 3" is the same drop as the stock skid, so im not gaining any clearance, but I am gaining a nice spot for rocks to slide off.....

Looking for a stock alternator bracket, threw a belt off this mess and im tired of it.
I think I need:
BRACKET, BRACKET, Alternator. 42,56,63 or 78 Amp. 1990 JEEP WRANGLER # 33001658, J3224476, J3227417
I have (see attached pics):
'90 2.5L TBI W/AX5 and HOKEY aftermarket A/C
|11-30-2013 09:46 PM|
BAH! Asshat sold it after agreeing to trade me.
|11-29-2013 05:06 PM|
Im scheming what to do with this 89 YJ, so far, if the body is decent, and after/also swapping over my hard top, doors, CB, Stereo, lift, tires & wheels, SYE and drive shaft, and axles (to retain the 4:10 gear ratio).
Installing the NV3550, and 8.8 into it.
Then installing the Howell TBI injection system with the Borla 17062 header.
The wheels are spinning, and there's still 2 days till I see it...

|2xs||More of the fugly basket mousetrap...|
|11-25-2013 10:16 PM|
Might be trading my 96 Tahoe for am 89 YJ tomorrow.
Defiantly take it to my detailer, have him remove all the decals, and remove that fugly rear basket mousetrap,
4.2L 5 speed (BA10 I believe)....

Ok, night pics!
For before pics, just go out and look at your un-modded gauges!
And YES, the dimmer still works! Ill never use it but it does dim the dash lights....
|11-20-2013 06:46 PM|
Hardest part was the Speedo cable, had to disconect it to pull the speedo out far enough to access the bulbs.
Something I dont see on the how to threads, then you pull out the Tach and Speedo, there is tape covering the plugs, just pull the tape off, replace the bulbs, and verify they work.
here I had one not work, so I flipped it around and it worked fine!
replace the tape, and re-install the unit.
|11-20-2013 06:42 PM|
Tach, off and on (no before pic:
Heat control location (Ill post on pic later:
