That's the only time I really use them. Any long distance I keep the doors on. But shifting without the clutch does help.

|bmlbrewer||I put my foot on the hinge in town. But I'm in a 5 speed and because of my 4.88s and only running 33" tires, I'm already in 3rd by the time I get through an intersection, and am in 5th at 30 mph. So I spend a lot of time with my foot outside the Jeep, even in the city.|

Easiest and best way, and you can buy your own peg for whatever style you want. I did mine and they work great.

So I just took my doors off for the first time since i bought it this week, and am really wanting to get some foot pegs. So far I've just been resting my foot on the hinge itself, but I feel like its not as comfortable as it would be if I had a real peg. I was wanting to do something to it today or tomorrow, so I don't really wanna order online, and the ones at the local 4x4 shop are pretty pricey. So I figured I'd make some, but don't have a welder. Did anyone make or substitute something else (bike peg, etc) that was reasonably easy and didn't need a welder? What did you use, and how did you do it?
