KBR97 Welocome.
BTW the whole manual vs. auto thing is really just personal opinion. For driving around a manual can be fun to drive but the auto's do have there perks when 4 wheeling. Both equally have pro's and con's. You'll find a few battle's in here about the whole Auto vs. stick.
I like my manual tranny but also could enjoy an automatic sometimes.
Looks like they may have had some Rock sliders on there, where the holes were.
I would give that jeep a once over before you go ahead and pull the trigger. Not trying to jynx you or anything but jsut make sure the previous owner didnt beat that thing to death (lift, tires, rock sliders). Im sure they have all that on there for a reason.

TheTJRod Looks like the last owners had some fun in it. Also looks like they switched out the rocker guards. Anyone know what type might have been in there before? I would like to cover up the holes they drilled. Any comments on places to get cheap parts? Thanks.

New Jeep owner in Fredericksburg, Va

Hey everyone! Thought I would join a forum to help me on my journey of becoming a loving Jeep owner. I have been looking for a good cheap jeep for almost a month and I think I found one for under 10k! I just purchased a 2003 Gray Wrangler Sport, 6 cylinder manual transmission, with a soft top and only 55k on it(paper work pending, can get it Tuesday 9k/10k with tax and fees).

I believe it has a lift, I am just under 6' and it is a little hard to get into, maybe ya'll can tell from the pics. Dealers don't know, was a trade-in. I am going to have to get some side step bars for the short wifey. Also another problem is that I don't even know how to drive a manual, I am forcing myself to learn by getting one. Also was told that it would be a shame to get a auto Wrangler. Trying to score back some of my man points by driving one, apparently you can have your "man card" revoked if you don't watch sports.

I wanted to propose my thoughts on what side bars would be a good choice and where to get them cheap! I like the tube look in textured black. Going to get a full set at one point with a winch.
