dredg009 A little more backstory might be in order. Bought it almost 2 years ago with 100,000 miles. Runs great no oil leaks, clean, minimal rust(Michigan salty winter), and all stock beside 235/75/15. I have been taking care of her and making sure I fix any problems that arise. I just hit 150,000 miles and all is good but I figured a little TLC is in order in her old age. I do have a tic when cold but I hear it's normal and is not a problem. That was from a off-road jeep shop near Fenton mi. Any little ideas or a list of things that I should replace or repair.

horsedad58 You know that's almost an open ended request. Anything that moves , turns, or flexes should be checked. But to be just a little more specific here's what I went over on my "new" 05 I got a couple of months ago.

Replaced

Plugs, belts, coolant (flush and refill with 50/50 mix), diff lube, X-fer case lube, tranny fluid and filter (mine is an auto), air filter, shocks and steering stabilizer, radiator hoses, thermostat, fuel filter, oil and oil filter. (Also replaced heater control panel, speed resistor and fan blower motor but that was really more of a repair.)

Checked

Pulled both drive shafts and checked u-joints (looked for dry or stiff movement as well as too loose), checked front axle ball joints (no play), checked axle u-joints , checked the brake fluid (probably should flush and replace), checked brake pad and shoe wear as well as rotor thickness and drum wear, adjusted rear shoes (had one side kinda loose), checked bottom of water pump for any leakage, had front end alignment checked, pulled the skid plate and checked the tranny mount...(cleaned and coated the skid pan with truck bed liner), this list can go on forever but you probably get the idea by now...

The basic idea is to give your jeep a serious eyeball and address annoyances now before they become a trail breakdown later..

Good luck....

UnlimitedRubicon lubricate the front end components? inspect the brake components? change the brake fluid?

dredg009 I posted one about a cold breeze under pass side dash and got search a bunch of times. So I named it that. Again can I change the title?

s14sh3r No descriptive thread title, yet I was draw in and pleased to see it wasn't about a cold air intake or something similar

I like to do a compression check when I do a tuneup. Also, it's a good time to inspect all your belts and hoses.

speedyrev A general maintenance guide would be awesome. Hints, recommendations, things to watch...

Atthehop I am so tired of threads without descriptive titles I stopped looking at undescriptive ones. How hard can it be to create a title so we don't waste time looking at things we cannot contribute to.

The thread titles that say "Help" are the worst. That's why your here and we all understand your looking for some so be descriptive.

kjeeper10 It's against forum policy to tell members to search.
You will get more help with a thread title
Would you like one ?
