Most wrench/socket sets will not have a 18mm.
Now that I have one (only got it to do the motor mount 'through' bolts) I've been finding other things it fits

yes the transfer case bolts are often overlooked.
@ mud. my only complaints on the system are the bushings wearing out and the QD's having a horrible bushing system...the grease just pours out the side and dries up in a week. Leaves an annoying rattling noise thereafter. But I didn't install the system..i bought the jeep with it or I would have gone with a little bit better IMO. Teraflex makes a good product, but some things they overlook. IVe also looked into the bombproof MM's. They look like stout beasts but I don't know if they are really allll that worth the money. More time and research will tell. Thanks for all your input!

Another important procedure which is often overlooked when doing a MML...
Loosen the bolts securing the transmission mount to the skid.
The bolts are recessed in these slots
There are 4 bolts on my 97 with 3 speed auto but I'm sure all years/transmissions are similar.

I don't remember what BL I used but the MML was just the iron spacer
I looked at the bombproof MM and then backed out.
The shocks are Rancho 5000 and no long arm kit just the basic lift for now, I have Terra Flex QD and am having some issues with them. Bad parts from the factory and they can't seem to understand simple english even with pictures.
Love the Rancho shocks, nice ride

Thanks for all your responses guys.
Mudmag, what kits did you go with for your mml and bl? Just curious. And are you running the terraflex shocks or something different? My quick disconnects are noisey as all get out since they cant seem to stay greased and my bushings are wearing out on the long arms...what are you experiencing with yours??? Thanks!

It usually needs to be adjusted after BL install any way but loosening it before hand reduces any uneeded stress on it when lifting up the body to install the spacers.|

The 'through' bolt on the stock motor mounts needs an 18mm wrench to remove - I like to mention this because 18mm is an unusual size and most kits don't have it.
Get one before you start - It's a real pain to go get one halfway through the instal.
I got an 18mm socket as well - it was very helpful having both.

|homebrwd||Transmission shifter will be fine, I would look into the Novak Tansfercase cable shifter though. I have it and its shift like butter. With that on you never have to change a bracket or linkage again on the transfercase. Say you want to put a tummy tuck on after riding with the BL and MML, well with the Novak cable you just put the tuck on, with the stock linkage or aftermarket bracket you'll have to adjust and keep the shifter from binding, boo.|

Rod & TJ I am running the exact same set up as you and just did the Bl and MMl
Steering shaft? NO
Shifters will be fine. the BL should have a T/case linkage extender brackett just swap with the stock one and you are good to go.
Only problem I had was the 2 mounts above the rear shocks, took a while to find them and a little tricky to get the pucks in there.
One thing I would suggest is go with the actual lifted mounts. I just bought the blocks and had to end up ordering a new set of stock mounts cause 1 MM was trashed.

BL and MML q's
They these questions may have been answered elsewhere. But for hopefully more definitive answers im going to ask my own way.
What I want to do is a 1.25" BL with a 1" MML. I know the task at hand isn't really anything to bock at for its simplicity. My bigger questions are, since because I already have 3" teraflex lift...just springs shocks and lower long arms with their skid plate and quick disconnects, Do I need to worry about my steering shaft? Im worried about an improper angle or it becoming to short? Or do I need to worry about that at all? Also the shifter stick and the transfer case stick...I don't know if I need an extended linkage or not..for either? Maybe im just being paranoid but I don't want to do the easiest job there is and run into problems like that. Any tips are good! Thanks in advance
