Looking at the picture, it's interesting how the driver side wheels are blurry, but the passenger side is completely sharp. Maybe I should have had my co-pilot move over to the driver side to improve traction? Probably cheaper than a set of lockers!
He's already leaning that way! LOL I don't blame him though, that earth wall is WAY too close for comfort!

So, I was watching some video of the run from Sunday and I noticed that your driver side brake light is out.

I know I have chatted with you a couple of times but am embarrassed to say I don't know your name. But, I thought you'd want to know. I don't know if I have a tail/brake light out unless Oil Can Henry's tells me.

Great pics!

Thanks everyone for posting the great pics from last weekend. It makes me smile just seeing everyone have a good time. (BTW, how many people peek at Wrangler Forum while you are at work? I do it all the time to break the monotony and madness.) I think it's safe to say the run was a big success, (and that should redeem me from the time I had to bail on my own run a couple of months ago).
I really like the pics with the daylight streaking in through the trees, what an awesome day. This weekend, they are predicting the high to be in the mid-80's. I am sure it will be cooler in the higher elevations, but sunshine galore. Maybe a bit more dust too. Anyone headed out again? I am afraid I have to stay in town that weekend....

The next Wrangler Forum meeting is in a couple of weeks, hope to see many of you there, maybe we can plan another run then.

take care all-

Just kidding fellas, they seemed like good people. Either way, it looks like both groups had a great time, mechanical hijinks or not. For me, the real coolness factor, besides crawling over rocks, it watching other people have fun and doing it safe/responsibly. Ergo, the reason why I posted the run to begin with, and great it played out that way too.

Looking at the photos of Jesse.lewis winching out on Rocky Uphill in your slideshow, it looks like his back wheels fell into the same hole my back wheels did last weekend when we were out there on the 21st. Only that time not everyone looked as "chipper" since the mud was like oatmeal and we were all getting rained on standing around/spotting and covered in mud. Just like you, I had to winch out too, even used the same tree you did in that photo. What a coincidence

keep it real, drive a jeep.

Ya, that's little rubicon. Though that's as far as he went. There was evidence of previous carnage there allready too.

As everyone knows, my driver's front axle u-joint went out on me, right before Rocky Uphill. During my limp home, I lost the caps. Lucky for me I had a spare 5-760x u-joint in my garage. I was able to remove the bad joint and install the new one yesterday afternoon, 4/28. Today 4/29, during lunch - as I was driving to pick up my wife, I heard a knocking noise. first thing I thought, was that my newly installed joint was jacked. Upon inspection, the joint looked ok. So I inspected the passenger's side and the u-joint was missing a cap . So after lunch, I stopped by the parts shop and bought a replacement joint. I just managed to get the new passenger joint installed, just before today's daylight disappeared. It looks like my outer shaft yoke was damaged by the u-joint's trunnion - because of the missing cap. I had to file the metal gouges messed up by the bad joint and the yoke holes looked somewhat elongated. this made it difficult to reinstall the new joint but I forced it in (still need to drive to work tomorrow). I don't know how long the outer shaft will last, but I may need to get an entire shaft replacement assembly down the road...
That really sux Island, of course there are always "Man I should have done this, should have done that". But really, when I pulled my front Dana 30 and rear 35, I should have kept them instead of throwing them away. I could have given you the whole assembly- axle, shafts, brakes, and all for free. Sorry man. That's a real let down to me, esp. when a great guy like yourself could have used them. I just thought with the JK now out, these things will sit in my garage forever and no one wants em'. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20, sorry man.
Good thing you made it home safely though. From Jesse.lewis's photo/post, it looks like he doesn't even have a yoke hole to put the U-joint in, so it could be worse. Luckily that's not too hard to fix either, just costs you a wee bit more

See you fellas on the next run-
