KillerKowalski My original post never posted. Hmmm.

Anyways, I will vouch for the 6/$25. It works and had it on my Fiat before I got my JK. Sold the Fiat after I got the JK and put a hold on the Fiat account until the JK is up. I will say the sound quality blows on the JK. The Fiat Bose system on Sirius was almost flawless. I probably won't keep the Sirius with the Pandora functionality.

I have been a customer of Sirius since 2001 and know their system well. With that and those that hate their "great" overseas CS, here is an American telephone CS number. I have fought with Sirius many times and even found a fax number online for a higher up in corporate who I faxed a complaint letter to. 24 hours later someone called me from corporate and problem resolved. Thank me later. (866) 635-4070

(Sometimes the number does transfer over to overseas, but it seems after normal business hours)

If you do sign up, just be sure to explain to them that you don't want the automatic renewal, otherwise it renews again, but at the original high price. That is unless, you call and cancel prior to the six months being up.

I had a horrible experience with them after my wife's expiration ran out. They were calling me several times a day, multiple days a week, all hours even as late as 3AM EST. Finally after screaming at a few people they put me up to someone who "took care of it". After insisting I had been through it before, she gave me her personal extension and told me to call her right away if they called again. I bet it wasn't 4 hours later they called again at 11PM EST! I called and left her a message and she called me back the next day and advised that she "opted me out" and I shouldn't be called. I told her to remove my number completely and she said that can't be done. I said sure it can, if you can't delete it completely just put YOUR number there instead and she laughed but I think she realized that may be the only way to get the calls to stop. I don't know what she ended up doing but the calls finally quit.

Now when I buy a car I make it clear that if they give my number to ANYONE there will be hell to pay. Actually, I usually look up the dealership number and make them put that into their paperwork. The looks I get when I tell them their own number is priceless though.

As for the renewal 6/$25, they still won't give it to me no matter what I try. Shrug....

JK-linux Use a "burner" card with SiruisXM. Any charges made to your account (that are incorrect or are refunds) don't go back on your card. They merely "credit" your account until you completely cancel ties with SiriusXM. I got into a mess and ended up with a Sirius Traffic renewal that didn't work with my 2013 Navteq Maps version - $46 I never saw again.

mbu SiriusXM ought to change their fee to something like $2.00/month. Then EVERYBODY would subscribe to their service!

Actually, SiriusXM should have an "advertisement - no fee" and "no advertisement - fee" option. "Advertisement - no fee" radio stations would pay SiriusXM to have them broadcast for them. that way, the stations would not have to pay the costs for ground based broadcasting antennas and upkeep. This would be good for everybody involved!

JKPaul Cancelled subscription on the wife's 2009 Ford Edge no problem. Added her new Edge, all OK. Cancelled my 2010 Wrangler last Sept., all OK, no extra billing My 2012 is still being paid for by Chrysler. Took about 10-12 minutes to cancel each one as I had to be escalated to a higher level. No extra billing occurred. That being said I am in Canada which might make a difference. Sorry to hear so many are having problems. There's nothing worse than getting poor customer service.

jeeptrail I wouldn't touch Sirius Radio with a 10' pole. Search out Sirius Radio complaints on the net; there's literally hundreds of horror stories with this company. Save ALL of your mail/Sirius offers, as proof you may need in court, should they sign you up anyway, or falsely bill you. STAY AWAY FROM SIRIUS RADIO!

unionthug Hello All,
just wanted to throw my .02 in. I like mjpjr45 purchased the life time prior to the two companies merging on a previous vehicle, the better deal for me was once you have a membership or have become a life time subscriber the cell phone app is free but it allows you to have it on your phone and log in on your computer at work or anywhere for a little more that $39 per year.
06-29-2013 06:32 PM
ColoRubicon I called the other day to purchase a subscription for a friend who bought a used car that has Sirius. I told the customer service rep that I wanted to surprise my friend and asked for the $25 offer for six months....her exact words were "We ain't got no offer like that".....Ugh! I talked to her for a few more minutes asking over and over how to give this as a gift, explaining that my friend would be a new customer etc., and she kept saying there was no way to do it, they had to have the radio ID etc., to see if there were any offers attached to THAT radio. My friend would gets suspicious if I started asking those type of questions and he wouldn't allow me to buy it so my great idea of surprising him won't work.

Once you take their offer, they've got your permission to charge your CC for future service at full price - so there's no reason for them to talk to you. I don't think they'll change until the government gets involved.
After you give them your card info and renew, call back later and ask to be invoiced instead of auto-renewed (and charged to the card they have) next time. I did that after an unpleasant surprise charge for a car I had sold.

JKPaul Got mine down to just over $4 a month. You have to negotiate, AND ask for a one year term then your not dealing with them so often.
06-29-2013 09:17 AM
laollis SiriusXM have a monopoly and know it. No where else can you get satellite radio.
06-27-2013 07:27 PM
socal-jk Wait unitl it expires. I did this with my Mini a few months ago. Deal with out it for a month and it went from $159 for a year to $29.99 for six months with another 6 months free....

kik I found that if you actually call a customer service rep you get a better deal.

Play hard to get, they drop the price drastically to keep customers. Just stand your ground
06-27-2013 05:04 PM
Peter T So I have been without the Siriusxm for about a month. Got a card in the mail today offering $4 per month for 5 months. Then the normal price for the 6th month. Renewal semiannual.
06-09-2013 06:55 PM
joeg679 Ive been on the 6 month plan for over 3 years. I just mark my calendar 2 days before it is set to expire and call and get the same deal. I have 4 subs on this, in different cars and on my iphone.
06-09-2013 06:52 PM
DBJeep I happen to like satellite radio, but the full package is too much $ for the use I get. There are less costly packages per month that they don't offer up front that get you more channels than you will ever listen to but at about $8-9 per month. Dig around on the SiriusXM web site. This is not the $25 for six month teaser that jumps up to $20 per month later on.
06-09-2013 06:45 PM
joeg679 If you call and tell them that you got the 6 month renewal for 26 bucks, they will honor it. You don't actually have to get it in the mail. Sirius just wants subs, so they will do almost anything to sign you up.
06-09-2013 06:30 PM
VaderJK12 Wait for the $25 for 6 months deal.

I never renewed. Between the radio, iPod, Pandora, and CDs, I really don't need to pay for music.
06-09-2013 05:59 PM
Peter T Well it finally ran out. Now back to plain old radio They sent 3 renewal letters all the same price. They all had 3 options available. Pay for full year, so many cheaper months the full price or just a monthly charge. Will have to wait and see if they send out a better offer.
04-30-2013 12:30 PM
Wharfrat They have apparently renewed mine at $25 for 5 months. However, the lady placed me on hold, I lost the call, and she never called back. They never took a credit card number from me, and I told them I wanted it done as a one time payment before I was placed on hold.

What are they planning to do, bill me later?
04-30-2013 12:01 PM
141 Probably a good idea to get a prepaid credit card to use for the renewal transaction. I've heard of them tacking on fees to peoples
Cards on record.
04-30-2013 10:41 AM
laollis $25.00 for 6 months is about the best it gets with them. They know they have the monopoly and you can't get satelite from anyone else. Pretty much sucks to not have a choice.
04-30-2013 09:35 AM
bflank You can also call them and tell them you want to cancel. They will offer you a much better deal. I turned them down on that and they came back with $25 for 5 months. I cancelled for now, tired of f---ing with them but will probably sign up again if they offer me a decent deal.

It's 3 dollars extra a month for PC and Smartphone.

mjpjr45 On my Mustang I got lucky. When I installed the stereo and activated the XM, they offered a lifetime subscription for $300. You were able to transfer it up to 7 times with a $75 fee each time. When I got it installed in my Jeep I asked for the same plan(still have the Stang) but they didn't offer it any more.

I can't remember what I am paying now.
