Man back in the day u used to be able to run Horse Thief Flats up over the ridge and down into Rattlesnake canyon by way of Vassaro springs and on up Matino ....there's also another really nice canyon just south of Matino that was a lot of fun....not sure about it anymore they've closed so much out there....I did see it when I led a run to Matino wash for "Fun In The Desert" last years and it looked passable ...
I know what you are talking about Steve. Suicide Slide is back there yeah? Most of that is in the Wilderness area and is closed I think...

Sounds good, like to check it out, but its getting warm for that area isn't it?

2no4 is basically a fire road and rated medium unless were talking about something different? It comes off the hwy 38 like 2n01 and actually does connect with 2n01 a few miles down....

We need to find some more trails up there...I don't recall if I have run 3no3 (horse thief flats) Maybe do that, then come up and do 3n61 or Gold mountain to John Bull and run that? Looking to put together a may or early June run..

Cool video Joe, thanks for posting! That area is hard to get much video because you're constantly moving. Not many longer obstacles like that section on Heartbreak.

The one part I was in getting some of Joe's tacos. I was so into the tacos I didn't even see you there filming. Glad I wasn't drooling on camera...

suicideking Like Stan, I tried to get as many as I could on the last obstacle. Didn't get anyone in front of me, but got most who were behind me:

JPi1 Here s a few more pics from the run, I tried to get all the jeeps as they exited the last obstacle, but there were so many, we had to go move our jeeps ahead to make room for the last of the pack. Great time!

suicideking Great run yesterday! It's nice to run an easy trail every now and then.

One thing I like about that area is it doesn't get crowded like many of the other popular trails. More of a peaceful run.

I'll post my pics later. Mostly of the fun section on Heartbreak.

It was a blast! I think you and your jeep have started the wheels turning in Ryan's head, good thing for him his has a good base to start from and few tweaks to that lift and his rig will be on par

Russ Just Russ Thanks for putting this all together. Good times. Not many action shots but this is what I took.
