NorCalKyle it would make more sense if that was the case, i guess ill lift the back over and see if it will reach, if not, they only want 65 to cut and rebalance the XJ DS i have laying in the garage

tigerblood Im wondering if a some point your jeep was lifted and then had the lift taken off and put back to stock, I cant figure out why else someone would have done that to a stock jeep

tigerblood depending on how much shaft is left in the slip joint of your DS you might not have to replace it.

tigerblood post a pic of it, or just google 231j and see if it looks the same as yours minus the yoke. its stange than someone has changes the DS and TC on a stock height jeep.

NorCalKyle Straight SOA, no +lift, I picked up a CV shaft from the yard for cheap, jus need to have it cut. I've just heard conflicting stories about using CV shafts and SYE for an SOA lift. How can i check if the output has been shortened? (I havent done any work to this YJ, anything done is from the PO)

tigerblood generaly you should lengthen your DS if your going SOA + any additional lift. Alot of people get away using stock when its just SOA on stock springs. its hard to tell for yours bc yours is not stock and we dont know they length of it. also, is the output on your TC shortened with your current setup?

Questions on SOA Driveline length

Im fairly new to YJ suspensions, was planning on going SOA soon. I know this isnt a stock driveline, question is, is it necessary to get an extended shaft? CV? SYE? any help is appreciated...
