It has been a while (3 years) since I had to do the hurry it is raining OEM ST thing, but as tight as my new top is it won't be the 5 min start to finish it was with stretched OEM...but close....and actually since I run duster and have soft uppers I could get home just putting the Safari portion back up.....
Thanks for the quick reply. I was planning on just putting on the safari since I won't have doors anyway. I just wanted to make sure I was able to keep from getting totally soaked during those summer showers.

rich67 I went with the Trektop classic instead of the NX because I wanted to be able to roll back the top for the backseat passengers also (my kids love it). It also is about $100 less than the NX. It's not as refined, the side windows don't come off, but the back one does and it still looks awesome.

Easily able to take it with you...but would recommend a window bag....homemade and "over size".

The one I had from when I had OEM ST is working fine (homemade) but it could have used another inch or two in width.

A "duster" makes it very nice and gives it a clean look

GunToter I'll get a picture for you mid week. The Jeep is naked right now. But to be a little more clear,

With the side and rear windows out, completely remove the top. Hold the header on the sides and spin it around wrapping the top around the header like a pig in a blanket. The bars that connect to the door surrounds for the sunrider will still be sticking out. Then just lay the wrapped up header just inside the tailgate with the bars straddling the lower legs of the roll bar on top of the fender wells. Then just secure it with bungees or something. It will basically look like the stock soft top folded down, except it wont have the frame work bolted to the roll bar.

As far as folding it back, no-go. But something I realized while removing the entire top today (wish I had thought of this earlier) is that, at least on my 2 door, one the top is removed you can wrap the top around the header (between the sunrider arms) and it sets down inside the tailgate where the stock soft top would sit when folded down. Fits nicely. A bungee strapping it down for the warm-fuzzy and your good to go.

^ thanks.
I thought you could fold it all the way back.
I still think I may get that top, at least for summer.
love how the fastback style looks, and every time I take my hardtop off.
Always worry about rain...

what can you do with this top
I know you can take the back part off and use as a Safari top.

can you also fold it all back ? and is this relatively easy to do?

bluehash You cannot fold it all the way down... but I do think it can do a sunrider where part of the top folds over the remaining...Correct me if I'm wrong.

Paid $686 for mine but would have only been $647 if I didn't live in the same state as Quadratec and got stuck with the sales tax. Just finished installing mine today...everything went pretty well, hit a few snags along the way but nothing that wasn't easily figured out. I definitely like the look, and I have not seen many in my area, so for now it is semi-unique.

Some pics: (only to show it off a little)

2013BilletJK If anyone has a link to some of these prices you have found it would be greatly appreciated if you could share them(I have a 2 door). Did a brief search on amazon found some for similar prices to most jeep stores. (Although I found a great deal on a mesh bikini top(

rics1997 You can try the forum vendors also. Last year, Jeepaddons got me a great deal on my Trektop NX.

stryke-force I checked my records and yes, it was $604.44 but it was back in Sept. of '12. Yes it did come with everything needed and the bar for the rear door. I like it a lot, went thru the winter with it and now I'm just using it as a bikini top.
04-30-2013 08:15 PM
BlackHills Nice, ill try that. Also I am assuming that the newer ones have the updated tailgate bar like Orem right, or do I need to be looking for one of them as well?
04-30-2013 07:59 PM
stryke-force Check on amazon.com I wanna say they had it for around $604 (jku) and quadratec price matched and free shipping.
04-30-2013 07:33 PM
roxbury29 Hi, I have been searching around too for a softop ( Trektop NX ) . love my hardtop, but really like the idea of a soft top.
I have seen quadratec, and most others for about the same $650 with free shipping.

I did find it cheaper last night, but was not a authorized Bestop distributor..

any one else see is for less ????
