cakes567 Thanks guys for the in put. Still not quite sure what I want to do. I think it would be worth it to trade because the vette is worth more then my jeep. So if I were to do the trade and ended up selling the car it would be more then selling my jeep. Vettes hold there value for a long time

Straight to the point, a 1974 Corvette(Not as cool as the older 67-72 models), to a collector, is the last of the real Corvettes. It is the Last Corvette to have factory dual exhaust. After 74, they all got the smog junk added and the dreaded Catyletic Convertors.

Vettes are cool to some people, and not so popular with others. But, depending on what your Jeep is worth or valued at, and the condition and originality of the Vette, I would think it may be a good trade for you financially, in the long run.
Like you said, you can always get another Jeep. I just did in Feb. this year, after 18 years of not owning one since 1995 when I sold my 1978 CJ7 304, 4 inch lift/33's, hard top. Missed it badly after moving here to the lake, where trails are very abundant.

Not missing it any longer though !! Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

rykemc Not trying to talk you out of anything but I sold a 67 GTO prior to me getting my YJ. I built that GTO from the ground up. Just like I did my YJ. Which one would I rather have. My YJ!!! Why you ask. Because there is not a single vehicle that can let me experience Gods beauty like my YJ. What he created in this planet we call Earth is so amazing I want to experience every bit of it. And last time I checked, my GTO or a corvette darn sure cant get me to those places.

SmugglersBlues I owned a 76 Stingray. If you want one get one but my $.02 for what it's worth. I did not like the car at all. I think it rode rougher than my YJ I have now. But to each his own. What ever you decide good luck to you.

To who who said that the 74s where the worst made... what makes you say that? I haven't heard that before. Was there a major problem with them or something?
Steering box cracks the frame. Low horsepower due to smog equipment. Rear trans axle weak. I'm sure there is more but those are the ones I know.
For sure check the frame around the steering box. It's very common.

I can't see a 40 year old vehicle being that much less problematic than your jeep though.

JPi4.0 74-75 stingrays were the worst ever built. If you are going to get out of the jeep for a vette, try for a different year.
Good luck no matter what you decide.
