to prep it i cleaned it with carb cleaner to cut through all the grease and dirt on it...should be fine just dont get that stuff on your paint so if you arent removing the grill to paint it just tape everything off really good and apply the carb/brake cleaner to a paper towel and wipe it on the grill to clean it....then let it sit a little then clean it off with water and wipe it dry...should be good to go after that

Monster93 Hello all, had a little fun today, got some more parts today and was like a kid at Christmas, here is what I got today,

1, New bestop super top NX with frame and hardware, (very sweet top)
2, New door uppers with frame
3, Rear Smittybilt fenders
4, 50" LED light bar
5, 4" lights
6, Smittybilt rock sliders but ran out of time today, will install tomorrow
7, Smittybilt winch plate with Poison Spyder black anodized hawse fairlead, also ran out of time.

Got all the lights installed but still have to wire everything, going to finish the rails and winch plate tomorrow after I paint the bracket. And going to paint inside lip of rear fenders black.

Yeah.... I cleaned all the bugs off and masked everything.... I also put cardboard behind the grill to stop the paint from getting on the radiator....
It took about 3 coats and a night to dry but it looks alright...
Flat black is what I used... we'll see how it holds up.

Lol, thanks. Best part about that one is it could be equally appropriate on any vehicle I own.

raycer Added some homemade armor (read covered some rust holes) on the front fenders. She'll look nicer until I can afford new flat front fenders.

Made them from some old but never used diamond plate mudflaps

GreggM Changed oil. Went with rotella and taught my middle son how to do the oil change. It was fun watching him covered in a bit of oil. Prior to the oil change I added marvel to the crank case. Let it run through for 30 min and drain now mind you oil was already dirty but wow it was almost black. Did seafoam in the gas tank and through brake booster for the first time. The white smoke has alerted me to a new fix. Found a leak between exhaust pipe and header. Yet another fix

Brian917 blacked out the grille + added two JK's to the family
