|vince.parker25||I guess I didn't think about that. That makes sense. I'm about 155 and i can jump up and down on the front bumper and there is absolutely no play at all. But guess you get 6 people in there and it'll be different! It was a your jeep. Haha we bought it with t-shirts and coffee mugs and picture frames and the whole shebang. But all that tour stuff is coming off the CJ.|

I believe the reason for the stiff springs is that this is a Scrambler set up as a Jeep tour rigs. Heavier springs to handle the weight of the tourists. You can tell by the 2 rows of seats and the roll cage. There are a few around here that look just like that too.

|vince.parker25||Here's our CJ8. It has much stiffer springs and I believe they lift it some. So for articulation we were thinking about adding the revolver shackles as on the YJ. Does anyone have any experience with the revolvers?|

|vince.parker25||Really. I'm not sure. We also have a cj8 with a 258 in it. We bought a turbohydromatic 400 transmission hooked up to a Dana 300 transfer case and a ramjet 350 we were thinking about putting in one of the jeeps but we aren't sure. We know fuel sucks. I was researching the debate between the 2.5 and the 4.0 and it seems like people can't really decide. My dad ended up finding the supercharger for the 4 banger and seemed to like the idea I guess|

So. We started with a yj with a 2.5l I-4 with a 2" shackle lift on 32's. we've since then bought and are working on installing:
Front and rear bumper winch and tire gate.
Dana 44 front and rear with new alloy axles
ARB lockers front and rear
Twin stick Dana 300 transfer case
Ballistic wheels with general grabber 35" s
ARB diff covers
Bilstein 5100 shocks
5.38 ring and pinion (our 44s originally had 4.56)
Terraflex revolver shackles
Dual steering stabilizer
Sway bar disconnects
5th link traction bar
Disc brake conversion
All the parts to accommodate lift ex: pan hard rod relocation, drop pitman arm etc.
the entire underside is rhino lined
Seats and harnesses
Can't wait to finish the project and finally hit the trails.

|vince.parker25||It was custom built. We bought it half finished and finished it ourselves. It's 1/4 steel. And the bottom square was built air tight so we could maybe make an air tank from it. We payed I think $325 or $350 but it had to be finished. And we rhino lined it.|

As previously mentioned TrailDamage.com is a great on-line resource for trails. I would also suggest picking up one of the trail guide books by Charles Wells. You can usually find them at any of your local 4x4 shops or you can order them on-line here: FunTreks Guide Books and Electronic Trail Guides - FunTreks Guidebooks for Jeep Trails, 4 Wheel Drive Trails, and back country roads
It's great to have that book with you when you're out on the trail and don't have cell access. Of all the trail books I've seen the Well's books are by far the best.

Rookie lookin for some help
So I am new to wheeling. Me, the one posting is actually 15 and me and my dad are working on building up our 92 YJ. We went pretty big on the project but as far as wheeling experience we haven't done much in the past few years. We have only taken trails capable by our Yukon Denali and our Excursion recently. There is a pretty Decent mod list on our YJ. With a few more to come. Any ideas on some good trails to get a feel for some people looking on getting into some harder stuff?? We are in pueblo and I know most of you guys are up in denver and the sorts. Mostly it would probably be my dad me (15) and my little brother (12). We also have a CJ8 lightly modified (moms jeep) that we are planning bringing along eventually due to our family of 5 and a 4 seat YJ. The idea was to build a YJ highly capable so we could do hard stuff. But I know that all comes with time and We would like to maybe meet up with a few people on some tails and try some easy stuff out. If you guys have any ideas I would love to know about some trails you like or think we should hit. Also. Any suggestions or must haves you may think necessary. Thanks guys.
