To the OP: Thank you for the inspiration. My TJ is Silver w/Black

So I attempted this once but ran out of paint and time. Got the week off so doing it again. Here is where I am at now.
Dash I'm not worried bout. But any tips or unforeseen things will I run into on center console?

|mack4877||not a fan of the plasta dip i think the dupi color products hold up and look ten times better|

|Lizard_og||Yeah that's how my rims were on my truck when I painted them you didn't spray enough coats, then my friend redid one and put thick coats on it and it looked pretty smooth.|

|vanillathrilla||I wouldn't plasti-dip my entire interior, personally. I used it for the center dash overlay and not really pleased with the rubbery texture there. It's peeled off in several places, which might indicate that I didn't spray enough coats, but I wouldn't do it again personally.|

|Lizard_og||Is it a bad idea to do it while it's raining out|
|11-21-2013 11:12 PM|
|Lizard_og||I just bought 10 cans of plasti dip to do my whole interior, haven't done it yet due to the rain I might do it tomorrow. Once I done ill show you how it turned out|

|Hobbsks||Has anybody used Plasti-dip and how did it hold up?|

|trebormesos||Just finished painting the dash, next up the steering wheel. What's the best paint for that since it's rubber, plastic dip? I am hoping to avoid a steering wheel wrap if possible.|

For parts I had 3 cans of paint (used 2 1/2) 1 can of plastic primer (1 coat) be safe with 2 cans of matte clear coat (2-3 coats). 1 dish sponge, dawn dish soap. I used 80 grit(use a less aggressive grit) sand paper until I saw scuff marks then did primer and then 3-4 heavy coats of paint and then 2 light coats of clear and then 1 heavy coat of clear to finish. Mine turned out awesome!

Has anyone ever posted a project parts list or recommended items to start with on this thread? Something that gives a quick run down on what to buy or plan for with materials.
Something like a recipe to detail what brand, quantity, and recommended strops would be awesome.

This is a really informative thread and I'm pumped to change my interior. I see many of you clean with acetone - and I understand this melts plastic. Do you wipe it quickly and rinse to avoid damage?
I have seen a few web posts mention they use dot1 brake fluid instead - any comments on that approach instead?

|donutslayer||Glad you found something that would work. I'm really surprised O'Reilly couldn't get it. I guess they've spoiled me and always been able to get everything I wanted lol.|
