Excellent. Good to know. I use an auto wash quite a lot. Have a buddy that owns it, and he gives me free coupons. Works great too! (Brushless ofcourse)

Got Quadratec to price match from this site
Frameless Soft Top Kit, 97-06 TJ Wrangler Sailcloth Black Diamond with Tinted Windows

$362 shipped with the windshield channel is a good deal too. If my Besttop channel doesn't work I will have to order a Rampage one, I hope it works

00TJSport Gotcha. Thanks.

Neil F. You can use any door skins. They seal against the door surrounds, not the top. I can't comment how well colors/patterns match or quality.

00TJSport I ordered a Rampage the other day. I have Bestop soft uppers on now. Can the soft uppers be a different "brand" and still fit good or should I be shopping for some Rampage skins?

muddy05tj Ok so finally got my top installed and ready to go... Wasn't a hard install at all everything was nice and tight
Pros:
Easy install
Finally not scratched windows
Very smooth zippers
Doesn't leak water in back window
Tight

Cons:
Somewhat louder than stock especially over 55mph very bad at 70mph
When windows are down it flaps SUPER bad above head
Back windows bow out really far when driving

CaseInternational I have been searching a long time over this same question. I have a factory soft top hardware and the previous owner installed a Besttop sail cloth top but it is showing its age and is time for a new one. I chose the Besttop Trek Top NX top. I like how looks close to the Rampage top with the fast back look but I don't like the tie strap for the top going over the back and visible from the outside. The Besttop version the strap is on the inside and all you see is the normal back and sides. Window storage of the Rampage was not a big concern for me and neither was sun rider feature for the Besttop. I liked the look and the reputation that Besttop has so I went with it. I just got it last week and I am in the middle of fixing the rear main, and the weather up here in MT hasn't been the best for a top change so I will get to this in a few weeks. I will post pictures when I get it installed.

Does it fit really good and tight? I'm thinking about the same top for mine.

nicodemus I just got done putting on a new smittybilt top I also purchased from 4wheelparts. It went on fairly smoothly. It was 80 here today though and I threw it on my other car that had been sitting in the sun all day to warm it up for a few minutes. Just drove around and heard no flapping whatsoever. I guess we will see how it does In the long haul but first impressions are pretty optimistic.

I got the black diamond top with the tinted back plastic. Apparently I also purchased soft uppers. Wasn't expecting those as I have full doors. The difference between this and the 9 year old stock soft top is immense. The plastic on the old top was very difficult to see through. The zippers barely moved and the seams were pretty dry rotted.

So far really happy. It's going to rain tonight so I may sit in here and watch for leaks! (And admire the blue LEDs I just installed behind the gauges)

HulkSm4sh I went in to 4WheelParts here in Portland, to order a bestop sailcloth replace a top, and walked out purchasing a smitty replace a top for 200 something (including 3 year UNCONDITIONAL warranty). I feel dirty, but will get it installed and get pics and be brutally honest about it as it goes.... Maybe even post youtube as I am a nub and could maybe help other nubs. I probably wouldn't have gone that route if not for having the store to go into and say "come look at this ____.

DBoat I just got the Rampage frameless and also put a Bestop duster on too.. love it so far but only been a couple of weeks. I havent even put the windows in and probably wont until Fall.. this is a nice combo and with the duster the wind in the cabin is less too.

The Sailcloth is a thicker material that will be a little bit quieter and flap less. Also, it's more insulating in the winter so the Jeep will hold heat in longer.

If you do a lot of highway driving, I recommend the Sailcloth over the standard denim. I also would recommend it to people who use their top year round and like to keep the Jeep warm in the winter.

We also carry Bestop's new Twill Top. It's even thinker than the Sailcloth and is super quiet and insulates awesome. It's made of the same material that Mercedes and BMW use on their convertible tops.

Hope this helps. Feel free to shoot me a PM with any other questions!

Full removal wouldn't be bad, its straps around the center roll bar and the ones that go down to the tub rail. Outside of that its just like removing any other top, unhitch from the header and remove j channels from the door surrounds. As far as the rear bar, they fixed that issue, there is a hook on each side that hold it in place.

It's a little bit hard to to remove than the factory top is, because it doesn't fold back. It's attached to the roll bar and door surrounds, so to remove it completely you have to basically remove the top from the Jeep.

Here is a copy of the Install Instructions to give you an idea of how to take the top on and off. The easiest thing for me when I wanted to have the top totally off was just to use the Sunrider feature and have the windows out.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll gladly help you out!
