jason75087 I know I'll get the typical "no pics-didn't happen" but while everyone is showing their family here it goes:
Browning Gold 12 gauge semi auto shadow grass pattern (3-1/2s for geese, 3" for duck)
Remington 700 in .30-06 w/ 3X9X50 Bushnell for whitetail
S&W 12 gauge semi auto 2-3/4"
Winchester 12 gauge pump 2-3/4"
Marlin .22 LR rifle
Ruger 10/22 Takedown .22 LR
Ruger 10/22 .22 LR
double barrel (side by side) .410 (1st shotgun as kid from my dad)
.243 bolt (1st rifle as kid from my dad)
Ruger Mark I .22LR pistol
Ruger P95DC 9mm
S&W M&P Shield 9mm
Ruger SR22 .22LR pistol

One more that I'm working towards is a AR-10. Want something lite weight and accurate, will prob replace my .30-06 for large game. Thinking of a Rock River Arms LAR8 X-1. Really want the F&D Defense 308 or SCAR 17s but can't justify the price on either.

It took me forever to find one but I picked up my M&P Shield 9mm about 18 months ago, and it has been an awesome gun. Not one single complaint from me.

That Saturday my dad and I went to the range, we put 300+ rounds through it at varying speed, trying to make it fail. Not one FTF or FTE running cheap 115 grain Federal ammo from Walmart (100 rounds $20). The very next day my dad started searching for one himself, 6 months later he found one. He wasn't even in the market for a new handgun but couldn't resist.

I was expecting it to be a little rough b/c of the size, but it actually shoots better (with less recoil) than my full size Ruger P95DC 9mm. It is now my go to CC.

With the smaller 7+1 mag I can actually fit it in my front pocket of any typical jeans. I'm 5'10" 180lbs, wear normal Levis in 32x30. So I'm not talking about some jeans with huge pocket openings. Either that or my in the waist holder if I'm wearing a coat or shirt untucked.

Actually if its a laminate stock its really very weather resistant. Almost as good as sympathetic stocks. Id look at a weatherby vanguard before i ever bought a savage.

I dont care for compact rifles. Especially ones chambered for fairly fast rounds such as the 260, you never really realize the cartridges full potential in my opinion. Less accurate, less velocity, less knock down power. My favorite deer rifle is a .243 if the shots are under 250 yards or so. Anything farther a 30 caliber of some sort is my go to, specifically .300 win mag. Lots of great deer calibers out there. If you want one rifle to do it all choose a 300 win mag. Nothing on the north american continent that cant be brought down with that round.

The ruger mk77 is a great gun, your best bet is to check with your local gun dealer or Bass Pro Shop and see what they are going for brand new, then decide if the difference is worth it for a new one or if the price of the used one seems fair. In my area a new MK77 is around $850. Its basically a modernized version of the Mauser K98 and uses the mauser type extractor, which is very reliable.

The most popular calibers for deer hunting are .308 .270 (which is basically a necked down 30-06) and 30-06. The .260 rem is used a lot for smaller deer like white tail and mule deer, some consider it a little under powered for larger species like elk.
Selecting a caliber for deer really depends on where you will be hunting. The smaller Axis deer in the Texas Hill Country can be taken with a .223 Rem. Use as small as a .243 on the slightly larger deer in North Texas. I bought my first deer rifle in .270 Win thinking it would be a good "in-between" round, but quickly realized I didn't like shooting it in such a light rifle. My current rifle is a heavy barrel Savage in .308.

Your best bet for selecting the right rifle would be to go to a real sporting goods store (not Dick's, Sports Authority, Academy), get a feel for who in the firearm section is a hunter, and pick their brain about what works in your area. Just remember that some gun counter guys tell questionable stories, like how they took an Moose with a .22 LR.
