colbert1775 I want in on this Chattahoochee weekend trip. Been wanting to do this for a while and now I've finally got the time off to do it. Would Chattahoochee be a problem for a stock JK?

Chuck-The-Ripper If any of you are within driving distance of columbus I'd be glad to meet up and do some wheeling.

Tell us more about your Jeep. Is it a JK, TJ, 2-door, 4-door, etc?

Not right now. My grandfather is a retired Marine and my father retired from the Army. I was in ROTC all through high school and am giving serious thought to enlisting in the Marine Corps. Right now I'm in tech school though, and I'm only 19 so I've got time to decide.

Michigunman Watch this section of the Forum. That are a lot of rides in North GA. We just did one Sunday that was pretty fun even in the rain. See the recent Bell Mountain thread.

I personally don't have a lot of interest in Sheep Wallow but there are plenty of places to go that fit what you describe.

Lots of rides to nearby (2 hour ish) Off Road Parks too, but doesn't sound like that is what you are interested in.

The Georgia section is fairly active so be sure to subscribe.

Offroading in North Georgia

School gets out in a few weeks and I really want to do some offroading this summer. Looking for people in North Georgia who would like to come along! I'm NOT an expert by any means (I don't have a winch or aftermarket bumper, although I plan on getting them this summer), I've only been offroad a few times. And I'm NOT looking to beat the crap out of my jeep and roll it over rocks or anything... I'm fine with just offroad trails with occasional mud. I've heard a lot about a place called Sheeps Wallow in Dahlonega and they say it ranges from easy to difficult, so there's stuff for everyone. I would love to check it out sometime.

Write a post if your interested and we'll get something together for this summer!
