|erickpl||Do you have any kind of front panel?|
|05-20-2009 11:55 PM|
|603TJ||no- the bolt goes through the deck then into the existing holes in the roof/body. When I take the roof off, I'll remove those bolts, take out the decklid, then take off the roof. Once I get the roof off, I'm going to see how it looks with the decklid still on there...|
|05-20-2009 10:59 PM|
so does the deck come off with the hardtop or stay in place?
Fromur description it sounds like ur saying that it is bolted to the hardtop...and not not the jeep>>??

Those are Knaack #28 hand tool chests bolted down at rear seat hardware sites. I got 2 used from a place in Az. Despite what the website says they were not near new, but turned out fine after paint and grip tape. Call and negotiate a cheaper shipping rate. CESTools.com.
You can sit on them for short distances. The grip tape is too abrasive though, I should have used some kind of smooth foam/rubber adhesive backed stuff.

|erickpl||603TJ, any more info on that deck cover?|
|05-19-2009 12:09 AM|
I hung mine under a custom back deck-cover. It keeps it hidden, along with any other crap that I don't want stolen...

|Bigstonz||The central rear seat belt floor bolt works fine...I had a pic somewhere|
|05-18-2009 05:03 PM|
Is there enough clearance for it to be mounted in that position if you have a hard top?
|05-18-2009 03:18 PM|
|n8smitty||Mine is mounted to the rear roll bar also.|
|05-18-2009 12:39 PM|
|erickpl||I've used mine to help change a flat in a gully at Wheelin' in the Country. No other jack would work. So I have used mine as well, just not too often. Being accessible is key. Being clean enough to use ranks right up there!|

|wavebacktothetj||thats great I have mine mounted o my hood with a tough stuff mount I just wrote a post in general discussion about the 1st time I used my jack, it was worth it worked great check it out|

Mine is mounted to roll bar with clamps from McMaster Carr.
Keeps it dry/clean (except when top off).
So stable, I can actually stand on it and it will NOT move.

it will probably get put on the hood or mounted somewhere in the back of jeep eventually. But for $30 it's ok on the bumper for now.
I wanted to mount it on the top of the bumper (the original plan) but the jack touches the fenders. Too close.

|603TJ||Watch out for Jack-jackers!|
|05-14-2009 07:37 AM|
Unless you want to limit your off road experience, you might want to reconsider putting that jack higher up. Mud bogs and tight trails are going to abuse it for sure.
just my .02

My bumper mounts came in yesterday, so i got to work pulling off the bumper and drilling 8 new holes. Heres the outcome....
