|Neil F.||I've has a 33x12.5 on the carrier for 5+ years. The IMPORTANT thing is that the rubber snubbers on the rear need to remain tight on the tire. Depending on the rim backspacing, tou have to extend out (hockey pucks or other material works) or cut the snubbers.|

|thgr8alex||My 33s are on stock carrier as well. I see no issues with it. Seems strong enough and barely able to fit. Haha i got like 1/4" from bumper and middle tail light. Other than being tight, no issues|

|CALRJ98TJ||Thanks for the info....I'm looking to upgrade my tires from the stock to 33x12.5 as well. I am going to give the stock spare tire carrier a try as from what I have been able to read on here it is about even on being able to do it or not.|

Just my opinion, a 33 should be no issue on your factory carrier. I've run one for almost 2 years, do some decent offloading when I can, and have no issues.
Be sure to upgrade your bump stops to keep the tire tight against the gate.

Stock Spare tire carrier
So a few months ago I bought some 33x12.5.15 duratracs for my jeep and never got a spare. So now I am looking to buy the spare and I know some people say you can put a 33 on the spare carrier and some say you can't. But I've heard of ways of upgrading or beefing up the stock carrier to hold a 33. How can I do this? I plan on getting a swing away tire carrier eventually but I am a 19 year old poor college kid and just don't have the money for one right now. Thanks in advance for any help given!
