I looked at your Jeep in your Avatar...and have a Question?
Let me preface with I have had Jeeps since '94...and currently have a TJ and a JK.....even with my "familiarity" with jeeps and tops......the "sun rider" feature on the JK creates the POSSIBILITY of the situation you describe.
The ST on our JK has to more "latches" above the roll bars where the top header bars "pivot" ....when the top is folded back these are "unlatched"...and if not latched properly, when raising the ST after being completely lowered, it will make it almost impossible to latch front header bar..if this makes no sense to you start asking questions, looking for threads about this issue...if you "know what I am talking baout, but haven't checked that"...it would be my first guess...all ST's have one thing in common...there is a "specific order" in which to do things, and the order will make it MUCH EASIER to raise, lower, or remove your ST....Good Luck!!!

|Abdul-Hakeem||And :do the latches first, before any other part of the soft top. If you need slack later you can open one.|

|Abdul-Hakeem||Oh and make sure you open the latch (pull the cover thing back toward you) that's what makes it extend.|

|Abdul-Hakeem||I sit on the center console for better leverage and push the bar thing the latches are on forward as hard as possible. Should work. Check that no fabric or visor is holding the top back. It gets easier over time.|

Soft top latches too short
My soft top is super difficult to attach the latches to the front clips. I got it once, now I'm having trouble again. Someone said to leave the top in the sun, and someone else mentioned that they extend, but I'm still having issues. Please help! Thanks
