You do the front and rear? I bumpstopped the front and measured the shocks to act as a limiter ... my springs don't unload any more ... It's just enough to keep tension on the springs at max droop ... I just lost about .5" of uptravel from the bumpstops. This last trip out to Calico confirmed it. I'm good for a while with my travel lengths, although I already have in the back of my mind going for 12" but that is going to require new springs ... I have these ones pushed far as they can go.

At least it's not a carb ... last time I took one of those apart I marked every single vacuum tube, then double checked, and still ended up with extra tubes when I put it back together ...

Of course. I added a couple things after you read it:

Just make sure that your springs are seating properly...line it up with the notch in the spring mounts

And if you plan on running the stock track bar for now ... check the torque after the lift ... it should be 125lbs on the axle and frame side ... the axle side is easy but the frame side will probably take two people

Or just have whoever aligns it check the torque for you ...

Haha. Seems like every path of modifying my jeep leads to another path of expenses. I don't think my jeep will ever be fully completed! But I can only get it closer. Thanks! I will posts pics soon.

2.5inches "shouldn't" require changing much of anything. Anything more than that you are gonna have to start replacing things. The lift itself is super easy ... basically you just disconnect the shocks and sway bars and drop your axle down (mind your brake lines and axle breather tube) until the old springs pop off. The new springs are going to be a little tight to get in there ... *EDIT* Make sure that you seat the springs properly. There is a little notch in the spring mount that you need to set the end of the springs into. If you skip this step your springs will move around and cause all sorts of racket and you run the risks of popping a spring. Found this out the hard way lol

It be stretched as far back and forward as the fuel tank and steering will allow me too. The lift kit has front coil overs with hoops. The rear is just springs and shocks. I may outboard later.

Oh the easiest way is to find an old military surplus CUCV and rob the drive train. 4.56 gears 1 tons, Detroit rear, and a 32 spline np205 tcase. The th400 needs to have a different governer spring changed out to use with a gas engine or it will shift at like 2800rpm. Are you gonna stretch it? Because those style drivetrain a get a little long.

Edit: they were from 85-88 and it was a 208 or 205 I believe don't quote me on it though

I'm finding more passenger drops and cheap too. The problem is I have to change transfercase now too. I was planning on going with some frankincase that Steve puts together at a later date. All this gears and splines making my head hurt. It's not like I have a gillion dollars to use as crazy glue.
