|bajonesy77||If you run cheap shocks make sure to use shock boots to protect the cheap chrome plating on the pistion rod, especially if you live where there is salt put on the roads or do lots of mudding.|

I bought some 14" travel Rough Countries. Currently waiting until I have time to measure everything out to fab everything up. But the best way is to flex and measure with no shocks and make sure your bump stops are correct.

If you wsnt to spend less just get 14in travel pro comp es3000s. Work plenty good and cheap. Make the mounts were you need them and then run em.
I had tjem on my 6klb blazer and they worked fine. Only reason I have bilstiens on my jeep is they were given to me

|bajonesy77||The body lift doesn't matter when considering shock size as the shocks are mounted to the frame and axle so shocks for a 4inch lift are what you should be looking for. If your going for max flex you will want to remove shocks and measure for up and down travel. With those heavy axles and large tires I would recommend a gas charged mono tube shock such as the bilstein 5100, rubicon monotubes or old man emu nitrochargers.|

Custom Shock setup up?
Ok Ive got this YJ which needs new shocks all around, It has a 7in lift (4in springs 3in body). Ive got a Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear. I can fab and weld is not a problem. What length and kind should I get? I trying not to spend a fortune, but it will be a doing lots of wheeling so healthy mix. Opinions anyone? Help?
