rdock31 Wow, yeah they're 550+ each at the junk yards. Found a guy who wants 800 for both, I think I'll try to find a better deal. But yeah I was planning on upgrading shafts for 33s

jeepwayoflife I can't speak for the gearing, I don't know much at all about 3speeds. That is a good deal for the two axles though, depending on where you live. Around me Dana 44's are $1000+ and even on Dana 35's people are asking $300-400. I wouldn't care too much about the price of the axles, either way you look at it you are saving hundreds by swapping instead of regearing (If you pay someone to regear). You don't need to upgrade the Dana 30 shafts but new rear shafts could be a good idea. The shafts will be stronger so your spider gears are likely to go first.

$550 each is a terrible deal. Many guys, like myself, gave their D35 away for free. A stock D30 should cost no more than $300

jeepwayoflife If you are only going to be doing light offroading, I wouldn't worry too much about the Dana 35. My jeep has had a dana 35 on 33's for 10 or so years now with lots of wheeling and no problems. What transmission do you have? If its the 5speed you will want 4.56 gearing.

Best option.

Right now I have the a stock 99 tj 6cyl w/31s and within the next few months I plan do a few mods. I'm already set on lift components, the only thing I'm unsure about is the axle issue. I have the 30/35 307s, and I already have the 33s I'm going to install. For a DD and rare light off road what would be the best option.
1. Upgrade current axles (410s and shafts)
2. Get 4 banger 30/35 w/ 410s and upgrade shafts. ( cheapest I found were $550 ea.)
3. 8.8 with 410 from ECGS and 410 in d30 front
