Khaos
side step

I just received these in the mail hoping to get them on this weekend. Love the look of them

RhettS Figured I'd post back again to update on the question I had to Rampage. Turns out the flange on a newer model JKU is a bit shorter than they used to be and the "U" stiffener doesn't have enough to hold securely. It was a very quick fix, however, by simply flipping the "U" 180 degrees to where the bottom solid piece of the U was flush against the flange and the individual sides were facing the actual mount on the steps.

I've had them on for almost a month and so far so good - the wife and kids are especially happy that it's a bit easier to get in and out.

Here they are installed

RhettS I got these yesterday and put them on last night. I think they seem pretty sturdy (170 pounds bouncing up and down on them) and will provide my wife/kids an easier entry method than others I have seen. I like the black textured finish on the entire set and the step is nice and wide, but seems to just a plastic cover on top of a metal bracket. I'm sure if it hits something pretty good, it may crack or something, but the metal plate underneath should provide necessary access if that ever happens.

Installation probably took about 3 hours, but should have only been about 1.5 hours. I had trouble getting the body mount bolts out and the replacements back in. There must be a floating nut in the receiving end (body itself) that I had trouble getting the last bit of thread out of and the first bit on the replacements in. Once I figured out that you had to continually put downward pressure on the bolt to keep the nut snug against the body, they went on with ease. I've got a question in to Rampage on the "U" stiffener for the rear mount, but overall I'm happy - especially for $165 out the door on Amazon.

RhettS Also, check Amazon , I think I got it cheaper there.

RhettS I've got this on order now - should arrive in the next couple days and get installed this weekend. I'll let you know what the verdict is then.

I'm not rock crawling or anything serious, just needed something so that the wife and kids can get in a bit easier.

Rampage Products Side Step

Does anyone have experience with these Rampage side steps? If so what are some of the pros and cons? I am not a heavy off raoder, no rocks just some mud and dirt.
