kdukes4 nice, then that's what i'll look toward doing, do you have a BB or BL?
05-16-2009 12:45 PM
jdhallissey I am going 33x12.5x15's on 15x8 with 4.25" of backspacing for no rubbing.
05-16-2009 12:19 PM
kdukes4 thanks for the input jd! what about backspacing?
05-16-2009 12:16 PM
kdukes4 oh wow, yea then i think 8's would definitely work if im goin with 31x11'5's
05-16-2009 11:57 AM
jdhallissey I think 35x12.50x15 on 15x8's.
05-16-2009 11:54 AM
kdukes4 what size tires does he run again?
05-16-2009 11:48 AM
jdhallissey Do 15x8's no questions asked. I know Jerry runs 15x8 or 16x8's.
05-16-2009 11:45 AM
kdukes4 although 15x8's would save me $80. hate being on a tight budget!

jdhallissey I know most guys well all that wheel put the biggest tires on the smallest wheels. I will be running 12.5's on 15x8's. It will also protect the rims edge from rashing on the rocks and trees.

kdukes4 lol. ya i was kinda waiting for him to say something. I looked to see if he was online earlier. Now isn't it that you want wheels that are no more than 2" smaller than your tire width? I guess that's why i was lookings at 15x10's
05-16-2009 11:23 AM
jdhallissey I would do 15x8's. That way when you do wheel it the tire bead has less of a chance of coming unseated. Then run 4.25 of backspacing. It will not rub, Wait till jerry gets in here to make any final decesions.

new wheels but what size

I'm having difficulty grasping the whole backspacing topic. I've seen the links with diagrams and am trying to make sense of it all. I have some 31x11.5's and plan on purchasing new pro comp black steel rock crawlers. Performance4trucks has the wheels available in the right size, 15x10, but also in three different backspace settings, 2.5", 3.75", & 4.25". I dont want these to rub or stick out over the flares too much. what size should i be looking at? the deeper the back space the further the tire is situated under the wheel housing, right? so too much backspacing would lead to rubbing? Is that that right and what are your recomendations. Man I feel so incompetent. Thanks!
